She is krish’s mother. She is very soft spoken and patient woman but is very strong headed and sure of herself. She is very traditional and believes strongly in following religious rituals. She is not too fond of Paulomi as paulomi does not fit into their traditional family set up. Her body reacts to shocking emotional news and she gets allergies, asthma attacks and can even go into a coma.

Now in her old age her behavior has become more like that of a child’s. she keeps taunting her bahu yashoda over everything but no one really takes her too seriously. she is a miser and a hoarder and believes her whole family is wasting her hard earned money. Though she taunts her bahu yashoda, deep down she loves her and knows yashoda will handle her eccentricities.
