We spoke to the producer Ajay Sinha who expressed his concern over the charisma of love-stories getting lost. Apparently, he wants to bring some of the old –world charm of classic love-tales in this new show.
Ajay says, "Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des is about this poor girl who has a burnt face but still becomes the love of life of a very eligible handsome rich boy. He could have chosen any other girl but his heart falls for this girl."
The story is set in Rajasthan and features some exotic locations of the state. Says Ajay, "I have genuinely tried to bring in the essence of Rajasthan in this show. There's this character Kalbeliya who has been created keeping the stereotypical Rajasthani in mind. We have also got tradional Rajasthani folk singers to sing the title track."
Talking about the cast the producer says, "Akshat Gupta plays the male lead and Jaya Binjoo plays the female lead. The supporting cast includes Maninee De, Tej Sapru, Ashok Banthia, Ramesh Tiwari, Mahesh Shetty and Toral."
Is this show similar to Satyam Shivam Sundaram the famous Bollywood yesteryears' movie? Ajay answers in a matter- of- fact manner, "Yes there is a slight resemblance. But the truth of life is that everything on this earth is recycled. Nothing is ever new. So somewhere you will find similarities but that does not mean the show is losing on its freshness."
When asked about the inspiration behind creating this show, Ajay says, "Dal-Roti!"
Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des is launching on 16th November on Sahara One at 9:30 pm.
