Kapil Sharma v/s Colors: Who won the battle?

The mammoth Kapil Sharma v/s Colors channel war was an intense one where there were moves plotted by the channel to counter Kapil's new show. And the results are finally out!

It's all about the numbers!

Many predicted Kapil's new show, 'The Kapil Sharma Show' to have a great opening viewership owing to its humongous popularity and the controversies surrounding it. And that did happen. The show, as expected, opened to a staggering TRP of 3 in the opening episode followed by a 2.9 in the second episode.

And this was a record breaking number for Sony TV, who hasn't seen broad daylight with such numbers lately.

When it comes to the moves taken by channel, the World TV Premiere of 'Bajirao Mastani' against the debut episode of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' did manage to give a vying chance, where it earned a point rating of 2.4.

And finally, the much hyped and arch rival, integration episode of 'Comedy Nights Bachao' and 'Comedy Nights Live' also was all set and guns blazing for a face-off. However, the episode did not quite match up to give a good fight where it earned a mediocre rating of 1.7.

This was purely about the numbers game which is won by 'The Kapil Sharma Show' convincingly.

And the other things

But, when it comes to the actual aspect which consists of comedy, entertainment and eye candy, Kapil's show managed to excel in that too.

The novelty in the characters of Kapil's new show, the star power coming on the show which is inevitable owing to Kapil's stature and the sheer excitement of Kapil making a comeback was enough to woo over the audiences convincingly.

This battle has pretty much been a one-sided affair. However, as we know 'The Kapil Sharma Show' is a limited episode season, we wonder what will be the next move by the rivals. Only time will tell.

I am glad the show got good trps.
Sony badly needs a show that can put them out of their miseries..

Now the competition will start from next week when the trps of IGT 7 will be declared.
The show has been doing tremedously well every season. So am looking forward to healthy competition between both the shows..

All the best to Kapil Sharma. He rocks and dominates the comedy genre.

On a side note I would say it's very easy to criticise and ridicule someone's work but it's very difficult to step into his/her shoes and do the same work.
CNL & CNB may not be at the same level as CNWK & TKSS but the artists are putting in 100percent.
We should respect that.

And for the colors --- Think before you say again, you have been so cheap with your show and your views about Kapil have been so hurtful. You ppl are good, be polite like Kapil and learn how to rule without uttering so cheaply.

Raj Nayak tried every possible way to damage the opening trp is Kapil's show, to sabotage his show , he kept on stooping low day by day ... He and Krushna abhishek are the biggest LOSER

It was obvious that Kapil wud win this battle..glad for Sony that they r focusing on quality than TRP at d moment..n for the third grade comedy show on colors starring Krishna Abhishek n others..seems like guests r asked to laugh at gun point..anyways..all d best to Kapil..
