I was a Business Analyst before I came into this profession of acting: Vivek Dahiya

TellyBuzz in conversation with Vivek Dahiya on his journey...

The good looking actor Vivek Dahiya, who is currently seen on Balaji Telefilms' popular show Ye Hai Mohabbatein, has done a lot struggle to reach here.

Vivek was earlier seen in a negative role on Veera and now he is enjoying his stint on Ye Hai Mohabbatein. TellyBuzz spoke to Vivek to know more about his journey so far, his interests other than acting and much more.

Talking about his struggling days and getting a break in the industry as an actor, Vivek shares, "I decided to take the dive to follow my passion for acting after opportunities came on my way during my part time modeling stint in Delhi. I had no pre-existing contacts in this industry so it involved a lot of auditioning. Besides this, a flash of my smile is charming... Right (laughs)? I feel extremely happy to have had Star Plus as a platform to enter into the industry. Being one of the most popular channels as well as having an incredible global presence, the benefits of starting out with this channel are evidently visible from the fantastic support that I have garnered from all ends of the world! Shows like Veera and Ye Hai Mohabbatein have presented themselves as invaluable opportunities to learn and grow as an actor along with the chance to work with some of the very popular and talented names in the industry."

Vivek also talked about his roles on the shows. He shared, "My role of Rajbeer on Veera, was a risky challenge and I am pleased to say it was a brilliant journey to overcome. I received so many hate messages for the negative role I played, that has inspired me further to excel in the role. Working on the sets of Ye Hai Mohabbatein, allows me to watch, learn and interact with a very talented and diverse array of actors and my director. I also like to interact with my supporters and listen to their thoughts whenever time permits. Social networks have given us a medium to the wider global audience to give their positive and negative feedback to me directly on how they are finding my portrayal of the characters that I play."

When we asked Vivek about the off-screen life on sets, he added, "It depends on the mood but being a self proclaimed foodie and proud, I never say no to an offer from a friend or a fellow cast member to go and catch a bite and indulge myself in consuming desserts. After the sugar rush it often involves me enjoying an adrenaline rush in a hardcore workout at the gym and catch up on new released movies."

We wonder what the interests of Vivek other than acting are! When we asked him about it, he said, "The main interests of mine are rather Oxymoronic; fitness and food. I was a Business Analyst before I came into this profession of acting; I was working in the Govt. sector in Leicester in England. I am not planning to leave the entertainment industry any time soon."

Keep up the great work Vivek!

Really enjoyed your portrayal as Rajbeer in Veera. Loved to hate the crazy guy. But my
personal favourite is the character Abhishek in YHM. Loving you as this character and want to see more! Abhishek has a fun side and an intense side which I like. Well balanced character.

I don't care what kind of material is shown in the film because it's upto a person to see the film but when u put this sort of things on a poster as in a picture then it's not right because these posters r everywhere on streets walls and anyone can see them including small kids it sends bad message

Blind copying of Hollywood without thinking !!! Totally silly idea of showing girl power. There are many ways to show that not this way. If this has become part of our youngsters in India then It's too sad.
