In conversation with Sarita Joshi aka Baa!

The immensely talented Sarita Joshi best known for her performances in shows like Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Hasratein and a household hit serial Baa Bahoo Aur Baby needs no introduction.

One of the finest actors of Gujarati theatre, Bollywood films and television Sarita has no qualms in essaying Baa as she is fondly known in her reel and real life. Currently seen in Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi the actor got chatty with Indiaforums.com discussing her talent.

She said, "Baa Bahoo Aur Baby gave me recognition as Baa in the industry and unlike many actors who feel that age limits an artist's ability to portray a variety of roles on television, I do not feel so. Portraying an elderly woman is what is offered by the production house but how one adds flavor and charm in the character is an actor's expertise. "

"I enjoy doing comedy and therefore even when I essay a dramatic character, I add my own swing of talent to make the character look humorous and funny when required and serious when the situation calls for it. By doing so I do not limit myself to the brief of essaying a supportive role in the show that is merely crying or blessing the youth." She added. 

Sarita also mentioned of how the youth today lacks the spunk to attract more viewership of the show.

"I remember how shows were very far stretched earlier. That was only because we trusted the stylist with the make-up and dressing and focused more on how we act. When actors are natural in portraying their skills on-screen the audience will automatically incline towards watching the show. There would be no need for the show to add more twists and turns for the sake of making the show more interesting."
