No mother roles for this woman of substance!

One might feel that she has put her career on the back burner but that is not the case. Barkha Bisht Sengupta who is busy doing Bengali films has her hands full with things other than acting too. Apart from being a hands on mom she also has a sportsman spirit in her which saw her participating in the Box Cricket League where her team was the winner of the series and she received the Woman of the Series award.

Barkha seems to be happy with the way her career has shaped up and is not eager to take up anything that is offered to her, "I am getting offers for few shows but either the role or budget is not working out. Another thing is that most of the shows are shooting so far off from Mumbai now that either you take a long time to travel or have to go and stay there which becomes too hectic. Also the kind of budgets and payment that they have for such shows is not all that exciting."

One more thing that bothers Barkha is the fact that she is being offered mother roles at this stage, which is strange considering how young and active she looks in real life since she has maintained herself quite well, "Actually, the mindset of people from the TV industry is such that they think that since I am married and have a baby then I would look perfect as a mother in a TV show but then again that kind of role should have some substance to it is what I feel," says Barkha who was last seen playing a mom in Nayi Umr Nayi Chunauti - Parvarrish - Agla Padav.

Barkha in fact is looking fit and in perfect shape as she participated in this year's newly launched Box Cricket League. Indraneil Sengupta who is known to be a good player when it comes to cricket has been coaching Barkha who till now was not interested in the game, "Whatever I have learned about cricket is all from Indraneil who has taught me right from how to hold the bat to hit the ball! He has given me tips and is coaching not only me but my entire team."

The result definitely shows as Barkha's team went on to win the series and Barkha who had on the way picked up couple of Woman of the Match awards was overjoyed to receive the Woman of the Series award. It was quite a big achievement for Barkha who had so far enjoyed watching Indraneil play the game. She tells us excitedly, "I have been a sportsperson but got interested in cricket after Indraneil became part of the Celebrity Cricket League. I enjoy watching cricket when I personally know the people who are playing it and have always been by Indraneil's side cheering for him and his team. However, I had never thought that I too one day would be playing it at such a level. Nevertheless, I am happy with my achievements today."
