is out of the house and we so miss watching her super glamorus looks from the Bigg Boss House, but no missing anymore... Because the lady paid us a visit and answered all the questions we had about her style in the house...
How involved were you in curating the wardrobe for your stay in the Bigg Boss House?
I was pretty involved... I tried tons of clothes before entering the house because I took this as an opportunity to deck-up and break my stereotype of a sari-clad bahu. As silly as it may sound, Rocky has a fun take on my stay in the BB House, he jokingly says "You've gone inside BB Resort for three and a half months, worn fancy clothes, spoken what you wanted and not played a game or done anything." I just wanted people to see me in a different light, know that I can look good in western wear too. I think 8 years is a very long period, when people have seen you in the same kind of get-up they start believing that that's the only way you can look good. It is very difficult and I think may be some people can't even do it, so I strongly urge women to try and experiment with style. In TV I feel there are many beautiful faces, and like me they all must try experimenting with their sartorial side. I don't know if I've been successful or not, however I know for sure that I tried my best. I tried and eventually I feel people appreciated it and I am glad.
Your styling from inside the house became quite a rage, while there have been some extremely well-dressed celebrities in previous seasons as well, we often saw them slip into tracks and tees eventually, did you ever feel like doing the same?
Yes, I did actually. Getting ready everyday for 3.5 months is a task! I've done a show for 8 years and there was a fixed kind of a look, I knew how I had to look, sometimes for occasions I had to dress differently, which again used to be Indian. Here I had to do new things everyday, styling, hairstyle, makeup etc. It was a challenge for me which I bravely took up. I wanted to give it my best, so sometimes in the middle I felt like bus ho gaya, I just want to be in my track pants and be comfortable but I can't afford to do that in the show. I went with a focused mind that I have to look good everyday no matter what. Sometimes I was sad and emotional, but I just wanted to look good everyday.
Out of all the gorgeous looks you've sported inside the house, which one is your personal favourite?
There have been many honestly, there have been many many looks spread through all the days in the house, but to answer your question there was this dark green jumpsuit and black pencil skirt clubbed with a black mesh top. I also like my Indian look, where Vidya Balan had come I was wearing a white salwaar-suit and my hair was done in center parted bun.
Coming out of the house and into the HT Style awards, you won the most stylish tv personality, how does it feel to be recognized for your style?
It feels good, I was a bit nervous at the event though, because for the first time in my life, I attended an evening like this... where the guy I follow on Instagram and love his collection, Manish Malhotra was right in front of me. So, I was the only one from the world of TV. Ronit was there but now he is a Bollywood star, I was the only one, I felt like yeah kaha aagai mai. I got very nervous on the stage, which I also mentioned on the stage. This award means a lot to me, after breaking my stereotype image which was a bit tough.
Who is your ultimate style icon?
I like Sonam because she experiments a lot, and I am same as I like to experiment a lot. I also think Dipika is great especially her hairstyle.
