Actor John Abraham, the face of the channel, was all praises about the concept of the series, "The cherry on the cake would definitely be the show's overriding theme! Retro' never really goes out of fashion, and when one looks back on this era through the yellow window, amazing content is assured.

It was the decade that throbbed to the sounds of the Boombox, witnessed the death of Indira Gandhi and rise of Rajiv Gandhi, thedecade that saw the world holding its breath as the Chernobyl nuclear reactor went up in flames. I have no doubt that the show would appeal to people across all age-groups and is just as relevant today, as it ever was."

Talking about the series, Ms. Debarpita Banerjee, Vice President, Marketing, National Geographic and FOX International Channels, said, "The 80s' is not just about nostalgia; it is about a decade of people, decisions and inventions that changed our future, told by people who actually witnessed and lived through these iconic moments. While the program makes for entertaining content, it also remains just as relevant and informative as ever, helping our viewers unlock' a bygone era."

Narrated through original interviews with music and film superstars as well as global titans of technology, business, media and politics, unforgettable archival footage, exclusive eyewitness accounts and dramatic re-enactments that capture these iconic moments in time, The 80s' series premieres on October 24, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM on National Geographic Channel.
