#1YearOfBeyhadh: While Maya is the show stealer, it is Saanjh who is the true hero of 'Beyhadh'

As the show completes a year, here's out takeaway from Beyhadh...

Beyhadh has been a roller coaster journey for not just the trio of Maya - Arjun - Saanjh, but also for the viewers. While Maya (Jennifer Winget) has always managed to get things her way gradually, Arjun (Kushal Tandon) and Saanjh (Aneri Vajani) have had their own set of struggles to deal with, and in fact, it continues to be the same way.

Maya, is undoubtedly the one helming the show and has done it ever so amazingly, but Saanjh does deserve a special mention for all that she has done and gone through.

While, Maya is in fact the reason we all watch the show, we need to give it away to Saanjh for being the actual hero. And today, as the show completes a year, what better occasion to list it all down for you?

Her ability to put aside her emotions!

From the very beginning, Saanjh has had very strong feelings for Arjun, but, she has successfully managed to put aside her feelings for Arjun and not let them come in the way of their friendship. Even when Arjun was getting all close with Maya, she did not let any of it come in their friendship's way. For a really long time, and even until the very end (as long as Maya and Arjun were together), her focus continued to be on standing with Arjun.

A true friend through thick and thin!

Saanjh has, throughout been a true friend to Arjun. Be it when she got involved in Arjun and Maya's marriage preparations, or when even after years, she chose to side with Arjun not letting her flames affect either of them.

Years after the two of them came face to face, Saanjh could still figure out how things are majorly wrong with him and that he could use some of her support only to eventually side with him and help him through.

Put her self respect above everything!

During the time when Maya was in jail, and Arjun confesses his love for Saanjh, she does not let his vulnerability take over her or let her old feelings cloud her judgment. Though she eventually says a yes, but she does stand up to him and for her own self like no other and that, did have our hearts going out for her.

She has, in fact, aced all the facets of a true woman!

Be it a perfect daughter, or the ideal wife, and of course, the best of friend and a greater mother; Saanjh has successfully got into the skin of every single relationship and did so with all the love and affection. Not only has she successfully managed to be the true woman that she should be, but she has also proved how big a heart she has with her behaviour towards Maya's mother, Jhanvi.

This story was always more about Maya and Saanjh than Arjun. He is the one in the middle. Maya is the Hero, the villain and the mastermind. Saanjh is the best friend, the heroine and the fall guy. Arjun is simply going with the flow. He was always in the control of either Maya or Saanjh in some way or the other.

Maya is no doubt the pull factor and the "Head" of the show. Saanjh is the heart. I like both women for different reasons. But I always watched this show for Maya the "Gone Girl" and will till the end!

Saanjh is never the hero of the show. She is a very weak character. Hero or anti hero, Maya is the central character of Beyhadh and without Maya no one would have watched this show. This show is not a simple hero heroine happy ending type of show.

are you serious ? saanjh has never been able to maintain boundaries of friendship when maya and arjun were married. in real life no wife would tolerate a friend like her. arjun is more responsible for the mess that was created but saanjh also played her part with her constant interference and also having some not so platonic moments with arjun. she was never a hero infact she lacked a backbone whenever her duffer is concerned. her dad got killed due to all this mess and yet she did not stay away from her duffer and his mess with maya. that was last straw and anyone with a little bit of self respect and love for their family would back out and focus on safeguarding their own family before solving other people's problems. if maya is obsessed with arjun, saanjh was too. she put him above everything and everyone. her relationship with arjun was not just friendship.

I dont watch this show regularly .. but from the looks of it i can tell Jen winget or Maya is the hero, heroine, vamp, heart n soul and just everything of this show. Take her out of the show and there is nothing left.

Are they actually allowed to write such articles? What a biased one sided article.
Maya is bad and mad, no two ways about it, but Saanjh is no two goody shoes. She time and again crossed her boundaries, pushing a mentally ill person to be what she is today. She is the worst daughter anybody could have, esp since her parents are so loving. Having friends like her is just gonna spoil ur marital life, so can't even say she is a good friend, but more than her i blame Arjun.

It's insane how viewers get so invested in tv characters, as if they are for real and need defending. Just FYI, it's ok to love Jennifer and hate Maya. It's not ok to attack people who hate Maya but appreciate Jennifer's acting skills. If there was a real life person like Maya, one who was responsible for your father's death, killed your mother, poisoned your child, ran over your brother with her car, would you still have so much sympathy for her?

I love both maya and saanjh. Maya is a hero or anti hero. Saanjh is a heroine. Woh kehte hai naa pyaar film ka hero hai aur dosti film ki heroine. Maya ka pyaar aur saanjh ki dosti. Worth watching it.
