And the wait is FINALLY over! India's biggest reality show, Bigg Boss is back with a bang yet again and the little doubts that many had, about Salman Khan
returning as the host of this season are officially all clear.
The promo of the show recently went live and the concept of this season seems more interesting than ever.
What is is about?
Well, like every year, this season will be sporting a completely different theme except for the fact that it will repeat the concept of having an amalgamation of commoners and celebrities.
On similar lines, the promo begins with the visuals of just another lane of a Mumbai chawl, where everyone is busy doing their daily chores.
Enter, Salman Khan
in the balcony humming his customized song as he waters the plants. However, a few drops fall into the teacup of an old man sitting below reading his paper.
Evidently, he is furious and sarcastically remarks Salman to continue watering his plants and not open a shower service for the people.
Salman backs off and the visual shifts to a lady drying clothes on the balcony opposite that of Salman's, thereby making her his neighbour.
She tells Salman that he might as well get married now, so that this daily chores are taken over by his wife. Salman goes on to flirt with the woman telling her that if she wasn't married then he would have married her, which is taken sportingly by the woman.
Finally, Salman talks to the camera addressing the audience about how neighbours are supportive and arguing at different instances, thus making the concept of this season rather clear.
The promo has an amazing feeling of homeliness and connects with people in probably the most remote places in India and someone in an urban city equally as much.
The subtle remark at Salman's 'when-will-you-marry?' dilemma is smartly incorporated in the promo as humour and will surely get a smile on several faces.
Of course, the superstar has been hosting the show for several years now, but this time around, Salman looks amazingly presentable, courtesy his look which is from his upcoming film, Tiger Zinda Hai. And evidently, it's a huge relief to see Salman in the promo after a lot of speculation as the show is now synonymous to Salman.
Even though the concept of neighbours is a novel one in itself, there have been similar ideas back in Season 6 and Season 7 which, the ardent fans of the show would relate to. Hence, unless and until this theme will have a completely different look and feel to it, it would seem like a repetition which wouldn't be pleasant.
Every year, in the promos, the catchphrase that is put to rhyme with the name of the show is unique and catchy, but this time, it's a complete miss. The jingle-makers seem to have lazed out on it and listening to Salman's hit song 'tan tana tan tan tan tara' got them to think, 'Hey, let's make it, "Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara, Ye Hai Bigg Boss Season Gyarah, Gyarah Gyarah."' The importance of the catchphrase being good is about developing a connect and this is too convenient.
Bigg Boss Season 11
is back and the fans can rejoice as the classics have been maintained. With Salman Khan
returning as the host, the show is in for another riveter of a season. With some interesting names already popping up this time, the excitement is at its peak.
