Gudi Padva Special:TV Celebs share their Gudi Padva plans with us!

Today is the festival of Gudi Padva. It marks the beginning of the Maharashtrian new year. On this occassion, we caught up with a few of our Maharastrian celebs and asked them about their plans for the day.

Gudi Padwa means the beginning of a new year for every Maharashtrian. I take the time to celebrate with family and friends and share the joy with them. I have had memories of my mother raising the Gudi in the traditional way right outside my house and me and brother watching it with amusement and excitement every year.

I usually perform the morning puja with my entire family followed by breakfast. As it is the Maharashtrian new year, my mother prepares Puri and shrikhand with sweets. And for dinner we always go out to a vegetarian restaurant. We wear a green saree or green traditional clothes as a ritual. And it's a tradition that we follow.

It's the new year and I have started it by remembering my God and spending this day with my family. Wishing everyone a very happy Gudi Padwa and fabulous new year.

I started my day with pooja at home and it's the first time I am working on Gudi Padwa. I feel blessed and I am happy to start my new year this way. My parents are not here so I will buy Puran Poli from outside and later me and my brother will have it at home. It's something we eat in every Gudi Padwa.
