its funny...people debate and complaint abt progressive and regressive content are the same people watching saas-bahu shows...naagin...qubool hai...SB...etc and those progressive shows are shut down...one has no right to complaint and debate when people still watch such shows becos their favs are in the show...no matter its progressive or regressive...KV just stated his pov and he has all rights...when people doesn't change their mindset and wants to watch regressive stuff...the makers have no choice but to show regressive stuff as thats where they get their profit through trps...when an actor signs his role...he/she signs the contract based on the narration given to him/her...when tracks changes as per trps...he/she will have to follow...

LOL! KVB like Karan Wahi is entitled to his own opinion. But, so is the rest of the world.
To categorize the shows he did when one was about an abusive psychopath is rather rich. His characters in Qubool Hai and KZK were also MCPs. What's left? Naagin - where his acting skills were ill-suited for the character or the character was ill-suited for him? As for the medium it is indeed regressive on the whole. Glorification of MCPs and kitchen politics seem to be norm that sells. Rare to see an Aarambh, Kuch Na Kaho, Rishton ki Chakravyu, etc. where the women are not doormats, but powerplayers. Sadly these shows do not succeed. Or gradually become regressive like Meri Durga. That said Hollywood has its own surrealism - the lack of diversity and stereotyping of people of color is epic.

@pomegranate, I actually think people who aren't that intellectual opt for acting as a career otherwise many people have similar good looks

@luxmi_1029, these people who put hollywood on a pedestal don't actually know that Americans aren't watching their TV anymore. I know few Americans who are watching ITV's so called regressive shows and are learning hindi as these shows (Zee) air with English subs there. Its better not to compare as each has its own flaws and positives too.

Serials are not progressive in any way, these channels itself are regressive... if you want to watch something progressive there is NGC, Geography, Sports, EPIC channel... I absolutely love EPIC, whenever I watch that channel for a few minutes I feel I have attained so much new knowledge. We have to learn to appreciate a show for what it provides, serials are purely for entertainment and if the purpose is fulfilled then its fair enough and if not you have a remote in your hand.

I'm sorry if I'll hurt some fans of the show but I should say it somewhere, here is better than the show's forum. People are called this regressive show a progressive one and they are doing their best to not stop that show, I'm talking about KRPKAB. The dr. says the female lead has complications in her pregnancy and its actually better to terminate it as the baby would be unhealthy even if born. Here comes the mind-boggling difference between reality and a TV show, between progressive and regressive, the ML raises his voice against the dr. for speaking ill about his not yet born (foetus of few days/weeks) baby, LOL and the FL wants the dr. to call the baby with the petname they have given to the foetus. Crazy people I say, what do people learn from such a show, that its ok to have such pregnancies even though your dr. clearly warned you not to and life is a fairytale that at the end everything would be fine.

Really its just a matter of time!! Lol l don't think so. I guess it would take another 100 yrs to change the content of tv shows which are getting constantly high trps and liked by the masses.It all depends on the change in the mindset of the people of India...& for that we have a long long way to go.
