Diwali and Fireworks!

Diwali is a festival of fun and frolic, and above all, fireworks brings excitement and joy to the hearts of people. Let's see how stars celebrate their Diwali with Fireworks..

Diwali is incomplete without fireworks. Old and young alike love the splendor and sparkle of fireworks. Twinkling anaars, rockets whizzing past, dazzling fireworks exploding in the skies, everything is simply mesmerizing!! Though Diwali reminds us of the brilliant display of colorful fireworks which explode in the dark nights, we should be careful whilst lighting the crackers. So here are some do’s and don’ts when it comes to playing with Fireworks….
The DOS :

-->Before bursting fireworks, look for an open space and ensure that no inflammatory things are around. If there are any, remove them at once.

-->Keep first aid and buckets of water handy.

-->Keep Fireworks stock away, while lighting a cracker and also wear footwear whilst bursting a cracker.

The DON’TS

-->Never wear nylon, lose or hanging clothes while lighting crackers.

-->Use only agarbatti or incense stick, avoid using match stick or lighter.

-->Never try to light used Fireworks.

Now let's See how are Stars celebrate their Diwali with Crackers......
  Vivan Bhatena:

Do you love bursting fireworks on Diwali: I was a fanatic when it came to bursting crackers, Even now, I love to see the coronations going up in the air. I like to watch the colourful sky, but I feel I have gotten old to play with the crackers now (laughs).

Your Favourite Firework:  As kids, we used to make our own explosives and bombs which was fun. We used to put them inside cans so that they give out a bigger noise. I know, that was very dangerous to do, but we have had a blast with crackers as kids. For me, rockets have always been the most fascinating ones to watch.

Any firework related incident that you have experienced: Fortunately, I have some funny memories when it comes to Diwali and fireworks. When I was a kid, I once lit a firework in my hand and threw it into my cousin's hands when it was about to burst. But luckily, nothing bad happened. Once my father lit a rocket which went right thro' our neighbour lady's saree who was standing near us.

Fireworks,  waste of money or do you think Diwali is incomplete without it: Diwali is surely incomplete without fireworks. But the point is that we need to play it with the right spirit; it would be nice if we could buy the lower decibel ones to avoid more of the noise pollution. But having said so, this is one festival the kids love the most.

Neha Janpandit:

Do you love bursting fireworks on Diwali: Yes I do. I love the ones which do not make much of noise. I love the crackers which go up in the air and light up the whole sky.

Your Favourite Firework: I like the rockets which brighten the whole atmosphere.

Your advice to the readers while playing with crackers: Have a safe Diwali as crackers can be dangerous. Wear proper clothes and be careful and attentive while you are dealing with fireworks.

Fireworks, waste of money or do you think Diwali is incomplete without it: Somewhere down the line, Diwali is incomplete without fireworks. But yes, we need to keep it to a limit and see to it that there is no excess noise pollution around.

Kapil Nirmal:

Do you love bursting fireworks on Diwali: As a kid I used to love Diwali just because I got a chance to play with crackers. Now, I like the colourful and lightning ones which do not make much of noise.

Your Favourite Firework: I like the rockets and the smaller version of bombs.

Any firework related incident that you have experienced: Once I was about to light a “1000 wala pataka” which did not get lit even after I tried many a times. But then all of a sudden, it started to burst. My pyjama caught fire and my leg got bruised. But luckily, nothing drastic happened by the grace of God.

Fireworks, waste of money or do you think Diwali is incomplete without it: Fireworks are surely not a waste of money, because as kids, we have enjoyed a lot. Diwali is nothing without crackers. But we need to keep it to a limit and see to it that we don't disturb everyone around us at odd hours with the big noise of crackers, as few might prefer to sleep.

Sreejita Dey:

Do you love bursting fireworks on Diwali: No, I am always scared to even go near the crackers. I prefer to celebrate Diwali with my friends, and I also love to be part of the Kali Puja at my place.

Your Favourite Firework: I like the 'Vishnu Chakr' that goes round on the ground. Also, I like the phuljaris that give out sparkling lights when lit.

Any firework related incident that you have experienced: When I was studying in 3rd class, a chocolate bomb exploded in one of my very close friend's hand and I saw her in tears as she could not withstand the burn. From then, that fear has always been in me.

Fireworks, waste of money or do you think Diwali is incomplete without it: Diwali is just not fireworks, so I would certainly say spending huge money on crackers is a waste. One can celebrate Diwali by lighting diyas all over, distributing sweets, getting together with friends and family, and spreading love and happiness all over. According to me, you should do everything that will light up one's mind on Diwali.

Panchi Bora:

Do you love bursting fireworks on Diwali: I am very much scared of going near crackers. I always sit around and watch the proceedings during Diwali (laughs)

Your Favourite Firework: I like the phuljaris and also the anar.

Any firework related incident that you have experienced: Yes, I once saw a bomb exploding and my friend getting hurt.

Fireworks, waste of money or do you think Diwali is incomplete without it: Yes, fireworks and Diwali go hand in hand and has become a tradition that all follow. But I believe that one should use the fireworks that do not cause too mucho f a noise pollution.

So Take a leaf out of the stars' experience and follow all the precautions while Lighting a Cracker and have a Safe and Secure Diwali!

Have a Safe Diwali!
