New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS) Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, Wednesday launched a unique guest relation programme - Etihad Guest - in its bid to woo passengers.
The initiative covers its global network of 35 passenger destinations simultaneously.
'With our hospitality-orientated approach, Etihad Airways is certain to raise a few eyebrows amongst its peers, many of whose frequent flyer-related schemes remained relatively unchallenged by the industry until now,' said acting CEO Geert W. Boven.
'However, having carried out research on the issues related to frequent flyer schemes, we know that travellers are increasingly seeking out incentives and benefits that indicate a genuine respect for their custom while rewarding them.'
The key features of the programme are - flexible travel, with anytime, any flight availability; choice of payment, immediate redemption potential, range of rewards with a network of non-flight partners to choose from and earning miles on reward flights through cash contributions.
Etihad Airways currently flies ten times a week from India - seven flights from Mumbai and three from Delhi to Abu Dhabi.
