Bhopal, Aug 29 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh government has organised a seminar Wednesday here inviting selected farmers of the state to find ways to improve agriculture and sort out problems faced by them.
'The government has invited 1,000 farmers to elicit their grievances and suggestions to redress them. Proposals to improve farm output to achieve the target of doubling agriculture production by 2011 will also be sought from the farmers,' said state Agriculture Minister Chandrabhan Singh.
Officials from all the related departments would apprise the farmers with the advanced methods of farming, storage of produce and processing of crops.
The event is expected to give important inputs to frame better policies for farmers, the minister said.
Simultaneously, farmers' meetings will be held at the headquarters of all 313 development blocks with the participation of about 100 farmers at each place.
