New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS) Two new rapid exit taxiways, along with the final portions of a parallel taxiway, were opened Monday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here.
In addition, a new link taxiway was also opened in between the primary and secondary runways.
According to a release from GMR-DIAL (G.M.Rao - Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd), the opening of these taxiways will further improve the handling capacity of the aircraft operations.
GMR-DIAL has also implemented a number of steps in the passenger terminals and the city side area to improve passenger traffic amenities and traffic flow. Three new baggage X-ray machines have been installed to speed up the check-in process and four more are in the pipeline.
GMR-DIAL has taken steps to improve seating amenities in the passenger terminals, better flooring and lighting, improvement of aesthetics by redesigning the facade of the buildings, toilet renovation in all the terminals and queue management, said the release.
