Actress Raymon Singh is taking a pregnant pause from her acting commitments. Last seen as Tanya in Piya Ka Ghar (Zee), she was shown expecting on screen as well.
"There was an elaborate godh barai scene and Tanya was packed off to her mother's place for delivery," says Raymon about her disappearance from the show.
"It suited me just fine as I was in a similar state off-screen as well," she laughs.
Lace 'n linen
Raymon may have taken it easy on the acting front, but not from her business. "I am due to deliver in December," informs Raymon, "obviously I can't shoot now but I have kept myself busy with my Just Linen range of coordinates." Not many know that Raymon also runs a linen business.
"My mother started it years ago, in our hometown Indore. Just Linen specialises in a white line of exquisite linen with crochet and lace work. There are bedspreads, pillowcases, mats, tablecloths and runners. We do a lot of bridal stuff and can coordinate the range with the trousseau."
In the last few months Raymon has been travelling and holding exhibitions of her linen range. "I was in Bangkok earlier and there was an exhibition in Delhi recently.
In Mumbai, I will be showcasing the Just Linen line at the Society Expo at World Trade Centre from October 5. There is also another exhibition organised by the Archana Club for the festive season ahead."
Shop dropped
Interestingly, Raymon had a Just Linen shop, bang opposite the J W Marriott at Juhu, which showcased the designer line. "I could manage my acting and the shop as I was staying at Lokhandwala.
But post-marriage to Rishi Kakkar, I shifted to Cuffe Parade and it was difficult commuting up and down, so I decided to close the shop." Her family still owns a Just Linen store in Indore. "Now I showcase the range at exhibitions or take individual orders."
New role
As for her return to television, she says, "I would love to get back to acting but I am in no hurry." Raymon was also seen as Sunaina in Bhabhi (Star Plus). "I will take things as they come. This is my first baby and I am looking forward to my new off-screen role – as mother." |

| 1. Indore-based, her first step towards the arclights was the Miss Madhya Pradesh title.
2. She moved to Mumbai for college (studied at Sophia) and began modeling.
3. Made her acting debut on the big screen with Dance Party, opposite Raman Trikha. Also featured in Military Raj with Irfan Kamal and in the Shah Rukh-Sridevi starrer Army, opposite Ronit Roy. Raymon has also done South films as well as a Punjabi film, Khalsa Mero Roop Hai Khas.
4. On television, she has done Superhit Muqabla (Doordarshan), episodes of Aahat, CID (both Sony). On the serial front she was Priya in Gharana (Zee), Nikita in Kkusum (Sony) and Sunaina in Bhabhi (Star Plus).
