 I believe even at that point a very different ending was being planned by Gajra 

 whatever karna hai toh kare..not watching...but i do want answers...to various questions...after 6 weeks of memory loss and maunal/maunal family build up, that ending needs to be explained...and 4 ppl ended up dead, they cant just leave that unexplained...the girls are going thru big life changing events, so t's better the writer explains why their parents aren't alive to witness all this...and im sure once kids go thru dilemmas , they will feel alone and wish their mother/father were there to help them think straight and make decisions...hence it's required that their parents' fates be addressed 

 Baki as for Mishti I think she will be in Mauli's dilemma...
