5.Confrontation

Lachchi came with medicine and Maan applied the medicin at the burnt portion

"ab khayaal rakhna iska .. medicine lagaati rahna warna theek nahin hoga.''

And Geet who was still sitting with low face nodded..

Rima came there with the bowl of pasta.

"haan dhyaan rakhegi wo.. ab tum bolo Maan ..Pasta khana hai ya nahin..''

"Haan khana hai na..Aap sab jaao wahi table par baith ke naashta karo main aur Geetu yahin khaayenge.. They left them sitting on sofa..Maan picked pasta with the fork and brought it near her mouth

"Na pahle tum khaao.'' Geet said

"nahin baba..pahla bite tum hi lo.. mujhe yakeen ho jaayega ki ye khaane layak hai bhi ya nahin.''

And now Geet gave him the look which told him to shut his mouth up

 Maan smiled

"Theek hai baba Sorry..Ab no mazaak ..Main hi kha leta hoon pahle.''

and Maan had the first spoon of the pasta..Maan stopped to chew for a while after putting the pasta in his mouth and then looked at Geet..Geet was looking at her to see the reaction..He did not start to chew..

"Kya hua Maan ..achha nahin hai kya? I'm really sorry..maine pahle hi bola tha ki dusra pasta banwa deti hoon..par..''

Before she could say more Maan filled her mouth with pasta "Chup Geetuu...It's so yummyyy... mujhe vishwaash hi nahin ho raha ki tumne pahli baar banaya kuchh aur wo itna tasty hai...tumne to kamaal kar diya...''

" Really?'' It was dev who heard Maan praising the pasta..

"mujhe bhi to khilaao yaar thoda.. Geet ne pahli baar banaya hai ..main bhi to dekhun Maan sach bol bhi raha hai ya nahin.'' Dev said and he also ate spoonful from the same bowl and he looked at Geet

"sachhi Geet..ye to bada tasty hain.It's amazing yaar'' and a broad smile came on Geet's face seeing the appreciation in his eyes..

"le tu bhi kha.'' Dev shoved the spoon ful of pasta in her mouth and she chewed and smiled because pasta was really very nice..

Everyone from dining table were listening to their talks and they were so surprised when Maan and dev praised and then they all tasted the pasta cooked by Geet and everyone liked that..

halo thoda pasta yahaan bhi pass karo tumlog..Hum sab ko bhi taste karna hai..After all ye Geet ne banaya hai wo bhi pahli baar.'' Raj cribbed from the dining table and Maan and dev obliged him like they were sacrificing their favorite dish for him

While everyone relaxed after bf and sat around feeling lazy, Rima said to Geet

"Geet chal zara apne room me..mujhe dekhna hai ki kya kya naya hai tere paas..

"Ok Auntie... kuchh new books hain..You will definitely like them.''Rima and Geet had a habit of reading in free time so they both used to exchanged their books and magezines..

They both headed towards Geet's room..

"ye dekhiye Auntie... ye meri new magazines and books hain..'' Geet showed her the new stock

Rima looked at Geet and asked

"Geet ...kya chal raha hai?''

"Kahaan kya chal raha hai Auntie?'' Geet was confused

"Tumhara aur Maan ka kya scene hai? ' and Geet eyes were wide hearing her "K..kya bol rahi hain aap.? Kaisa scene auntie?''

"aaj kal dekh rahi hoon ki tum badal rahi ho.'' Rima gave her  sharp eye and  Geet turned pale hearing her as she was caught red handed

"main kahaan se badal rahi hoon? Main to wahi same Geet hoon auntie.. dhyaan se dekhiye mujhe'' Geet signaled at herself from head to toe

"achha? Tum aise nahin bologi kuchh..ek baat bataao.. aaj tumne Maan ke liye pasta kyun banaya?''

"W..wo to aise hi ..kuchh banaane ka mann kiya to bana diya..Mom roz roz bolti hain ki main bikul interest nahin leti ghar ke kaam me. toh bas unko khush karne ke liye hi banaya''

"Par pasta bhi kyun? Dev ke liye Omlette ya Raj ke liye aloo ke paraathe kyun nahin?''

"A.. Auntie koi khaas reason nahin  bas aise hi''

And saying this she lowered her head

Rima came to the point

"Kuchh alag se feel hota hai Maan ko dekh kar?  Maan ko chori chori dekhti ho.aur jab wo tumhen touch karta hai to tum blush bhi karti ho.. Kahin pyaar...?'' She left her sentence unspoken and Geet instantly looked at her with stunned eyes...

Her eyes were full of shock..

"Pyaar?'' She stammered "N..nahin toh.Aisa kuchh nahin hai'' She shook her head denying Rima

"Par teri aankhen to kuchh aur hi bol rahi hain.'' Geet did not know how and what to reply..She herself was not sure about the changes she was feeling nowadays..She did not know what it was

"bol na Geet.''

And Geet gave up.. She took a deep breath in and said

"Pata nahin Auntie. Aaj kal mujhe kya ho gaya hai.Sab kuchh jaise badal gaya hai...Maan ki har baat mujh par asar daalti hai.jab wo meri mazaak banata hai to bura lagta hai.. aur jab care karta hai to bahut achcha lagta hai..pahle aisa nahin hua mere saath... Jab bhi wo meri mazaak banata tha tab main bhi hansti thi uske saath aur khus ki mazaak bhi banaati hai..par aajkal sab ulta ho gaya hai.''

Rima lifted her face and looked at her.. She could see her eyes filled with water

She knew that Geet was passing thru a new phase of life which was completely unknown to her .she knew that her crazy son was making things more difficult for her..She felt little sympathy for her in her heart.. No matter how much she behaved like a Tom boy but she knew that Geet was a cute and simple hearted girl who did not bother to anything but now she had started to change because of her son

"Toh ro kyun rahi hai? Agar uski baaten tere dil par asar karti hain achchha hai na.. rone wali kya baat hai beta''

And Geet hugged her

Rima patted her back "Tujhe pata hai Geet.. har pyaar ki shuruvaat aise hi hoti hai.''

And geet separated her from Rima

"Pyaar?''

And Rima nodded

"par Auntie pyaar to ek ladke aur ek ladki ke beech hota hai na...Maan kahta hai ki main ladki hi nahin hoon... aur mere jaisi ladki se wo to kya koi bhi pyaar nahin kar sakta..Mujhe bhi to ladkiyon jaise behave karna bilkul achha nahin lagta.. main ye sab jaanti hoon phir bhi Maan ki in baton ka ab dil par asar hota hai ..''

Rima smiled hearing her and thought in her mind "kahta to theek hi hai Maan.. itne pyaare chehre ko aise weird get up ke peechhe chhupa ke ghoomti rahti  hai.. Kisi ko kaise pata chalega ki iss Tom boyish get up ke peechhe ek nazuk si khoobsurat ladki chhupi hai jisko dekh ke kisi bhi ladke ka dil bahak sakta hai,''

But kept quiet and patted her back to sooth her ..She didn't say anything to Geet. While looking at her she smiled and just tried to make Geet smile

"Geet tujhe pata hai na ladkiyaan bikul aise hi roti hain jaise abhi tu ro rahi hai.. Toh ye to pahla suboot mila ki tu ladki hi hai.''

And Geet looked at her and wiped her tears.

"nahin Auntie..main nahin ro rahi hoon... Main nahin roti hoon..wo to bas aise hi aaj haath jal gaya na to thoda dard hai.''she tried to make excuses

And Rima laughed hearing her excuses and kissed her temple

"Pagli.. jhooth bolna bhi nahin aata tujhe toh..''

And Geet was embarrassed as Rima was right

"Ab chal neeche chalte hain..warna sab sochenge ki hum books  padhne hi to nahin baith gaye.'' Rima smiled looking at her

And Geet smiled hearing her..But she was forced to think "Mujhe Maan se pyaar ho gaya hai? Nahin aisa nahin hai.'' Then she thought again"Shayad Haan... issiliye uski har baat se mujhe farak padta hai.'' and she inhaled deep air."par kya fayda..Maan to mere baare me waisa kabhi nahin sochega.. Hum bas best friend hi rahenge,''

"Geet kahaan kho gayi? Chal na.'' Rima called her and she nodded. Both came down and found everyone in deep discussion..

 "Kya baat kar rahe ho sab?'' Rima asked

Mahi smiled "Rima lagta hai tum bhool gayi iss week tumhaari aur Raj ki 25th wedding anniversary hai..''

Maan and Dev were excited.

Maan said

"haan Mom ..aur hum sab dhoomdhaam se manayenge aapki aur dad ki silver jubilee anniversary'' his eyes fell on Geet

"Tujhe kya hua..itni dull kyun lag rahi hai? pain ho raha hai kya haath me..Dikha zara.'' He held her hand and inspected the burn..Then he blew air from his mouth..

Rima and Geet looked at each other and Rima smiled.. Rima even blinked at geet making her blush..

"Maan.. main theek hoon.'' Geet took her hand away from his hands

Now there was a discussion about the anniversary celebration so Geet got a new reason to be happy.. She became excited and said

"Auntie ..Uncle..hum teeno mil ke bahut ache se taiyaariyaan karenge party ki..hai na Dev. Hai na Maan?''

She looked at Dev and then at Maan

Dev agreed

'Haan bikul.. par time kam hai to sab aaj hi plan karna padega.''

Maan suggested 'par ye sab Mom dad ke liye secret rahega ki hum kya karne wale hain ..wo sab kuchh ek surprise hoga aap dono ke liye.''

Raj disagreed

"Na ..ye galat baat hai..mujhe bhi dekhna hai tum log kya karte ho''

Mahi laughed

"Arrey Raj..tu chhod na,.tu bas dulha banne ki taiyaari kar..baki main dekh loonga bachhon ke saath mil ke.. tu tension na le''

And everyone laughed hearing Mahi's talks about being a groom..

Geet whistled loudly

"ye ekdum sahi bola dad aapne. Iss bahaane hum bhi  uncle ko dulhe ke get up me dekh lenge..unki shadi par to dekh nahin paaye.. Tab nahin to ab sahi'' Geet said and next moment there was a fit of laughter hearing Geet

Raj and Rima were little embarrassed seeing them laughing..Geet blew a loud whistle again and Maan frowned at Geet

"Geet kya kar rahi hai?Baar baar seeti kyun baja rahi hai?.Tu achhi nahin lagti bajaate hue''

Geet smirked

"Haan.. Tum toh jealous hoge hi.. Tumhen seeti bajana nahin aata hai na'' and she blew the whistle again and he glared but she teased him

"kuchh toh hai jo Maan Singh Khurana ko karna nahin aata.''  Dev and Geet hi-fived to irritate Maan

Maan frowned at both of them to which Geet gave him an I don't care look and everyone laughed as Maan always felt ashamed of himself for not able to blow a whistle by his mouth while as others Specially Geet could do it easily..She had even defeated few boys once when there was a friendly competition about how many types of whistles one could blow and Geet demonstrated a variety of blowing whistle making all the boys embarrassed including Maan

'Achcha achha theek hai...jyada proud feel mat kar..ab chalo tum dono.. saari planning karte hain party ki, Time nahin hai hamaare paas waste karne ke liye'' and he dragged Dev and Geet along with him towards Geet's room

And after reaching home Rima was in thinking mode. Raj noticed her and asked

"Kya hua Rima..kahan khoyi hui ho?''

Dev and Maan too noticed that

Rima looked at both of them and all of a sudden blurted out

"main soch rahi thi ki Geet agar hamaari bahu bane toh? Kitni pyaari hai na''

Maan and Dev both got almost a heart attack for different reasons.. Dev already was having a Gf and Maan.. His thoughts were very well known about Geet

"Omg..Mom... aap theek to hain na? Geet aur aapki bahu? Aapko pata hai na ki bahu banaane ke liye ek ladki chhaiye. Geet khud ko ladkiyon ke jaise nahin samajhti hai. Wo to meri aur dev ke jaise hi hai. Saari harkaten ladkon ki tarah hi hain uski.. I think wo khud ek bahu apne ghar le ke aayegi '' Maan laughed and Rima glared at him..

"Shut up Maan''

"Mom..Geet hamaari best friend hai..Kya aap ye sab le ke baith gayin.Hum jaise hain waise hi acchhe hain.hum friends hain aur aise hi rahenge'' Dev supported Maan and  both hurriedly excused themselves and went to their rooms to make a plan..  Geet had asked them to on video call for the same..Both Maan and Dev had shrugged their mind from that side as they knew that Mom was thinking all nonsense..

Preparation for the party took the top Priority in everyone's minds..So Geet's struggle with her heart and mind had taken a back seat.. They were doing their jobs..Raj and Rima were kept away from the preparations.. No one was ready to open the secrets... Though they were desperate to know... But all were a team now..So they could not get any clue what they were going to do for their silver jubilee party...

Maan Geet and Dev were handling the decor of the venue along with the menu for the party and Mahi was handling the the responsibility to invite guests as younger gen did not know about their all guests to invite..

Rano was busy with Rima to help her with her shopping for the day

On the anniversary eve

Mahi Rano and Geet joined Maan and Dev at KM without telling Rima and Raj..

It was late night so they both had went to their room to sleep...Only Maan and Dev were awake waiting for Handas

Rima heard a hard and continuous knock at the door of their bedroom and she heard Geet shouting

"Auntie..Uncle..darwaza kholiye jaldiii ..''

And Rima got panicked hearing her voice

'Geet ? iss waqt yahan kya kar rahi hai?'' and Raj too woke up hearing Geet's voice

 "Kya hua..ye Geet kyun chilla rahi hai ..Kuchh ho to nahin gaya isko? Itni raat ko yahaan kaise aayi?''..and they both opened the door and were shocked to see everyone at their door and Geet quickly hugged Rima

"Happy anniversary Auntie..and then she wished to Raj too happy Anniversary Uncle''.. and shouted in a loud voice

'Yeahhh maine sabse pahle wish kiya.''

Maan pulled her aside

"Ab hat peechhe.. Wish kar liya na tune?'' Geet pouted and made faces while looking at Maan .

Maan and Dev wished them .. They touched their feet and got the blessings in return..

"Offo.. main to bhool hi gayi asshirwaad lena.'' and she touched their feet too and Maan teased her

"wah Geetu tu iss maamle me to kam se kam haar hi gayi.asshirwaad mujhe tujhse pahle mila'' Maan teased her

"Haan haan theek hai..mujhe to bina maange hi milta hai..hai na Auntie.'' Geet gave him in return

And Rima caressed her face

"haan tu to hamesha hi mere lye pahle no. par aati hai..''

"Dekho Maan .. Dev... I m always at no 1.'' Geet told them excitedly

Rano interrupted

'ab tum logon ka ho gaya ho to hame bhi wish kar lene do'' and rano and Mahi wished them by taking them in their warm hug..

That day everyone was free from the arrangement of the party.. They just needed to check at the party venue in between to see if everything was perfect..BF and lunch was at KM..

Rima told Geet

"Geet aaj tu mere saath chal parlour..mujhe ready hone me help karna''

"Kyaaa? Main?'' Geet eyes became big like saucer "na Auntie ..please main nahin... Mujhe kahaan makeup ke bare me kuchh pata hai?..Aap Mom ko le ke jaana..Parlour is such a boring place..''

Rima said again

"Rano ko jaldi ready ho ke venue par jana hai na guests ko receive karne.. toh wo mere saath kaise aa sakti hai.. tu hi chalegi.''

"Please Auntie..''

Rima was not ready to accept defeat

"Geet .. chal aaj ke din tu ye mere liye apna anniversary gift hi samajh le..jo mujhe chhaiye tujhse..bas mere saath chal.''

"Auntie'' Geet gave her a pleading look

" Aisa kya maang rahi hoon jo tu nahin de sakti mujhe? Mere liye itna chhota kaam bhi nahin kar sakti?''

Geet pouted hearing her now she could not say no to Rima's emotional blackmailing

"OK Auntie.. main aaungi''

and Rima smiled "That's like my good girl.''

Geet gave a pathetic look to Maan and Dev and they hi-fived seeing Geet's condition..They knew that Geet never went to parlour other than to maintain her long hair.

"chal ab mere saath'' Rima was ready

"abhi se?'' Geet looked in to her wrist watch "Abhi toh teen ghante hain party me?'' Geet was shocked

"Haan..Mera special din hai to I want to get ready properly..ab chal.''

Geet twisted her lips

"chaliye..Bye guys..aane wala teen ghante mere liye kisi saza se kam nahin hone wale..'' She looked at Maan and Dev and they both wished her luck

"Raj.. tum jab ready ho jaao to seedhe mujhe aur Geet ko pick kar lena parlour se..Reema said to Raj and he nodded

"jo hokum begam sahiba.'' and then he asked to Maan and Dev

"Arrey yaar ab to bata do ki party kahaan hai? Pata chala sab pahunch gaye party me aur dulha dulhan nahin pahunche kyunki unko pata hi nahin tha ki venue kahaan hai.'' and everyone laughed

Maan casually told him "Dad jaldi kya hai bata denge.. abhi to teen ghante hain na..

"Auntie main kaise ready ho paaungi agar hum seedhe parlour se party me jaayenge toh.''

"Tune kya ready hona hai?Bas jeans aur shirt hi to daalni hai..chal le ke chal apne kapde apne saath ..wahin ready ho jana..''

And Geet nodded..Half heartedly she took her clothes and went to the parlour with Rima

At parlour

Rima settled in the chair and attendant came to aatend her ...

"ek minute... Geet chal tub hi baith ja iss chair par'' Rima asked Geet to sit and Geet sat..

Rima instructed the parlour girl

"Dekho ye meri beti hai.. Tum isko bhi achhe se ready karo.''

Geet was horrified hearing that

"Auntie... ye kya bol rahi hain aap.. mujhe kya ready hona hai..bas change hi to karna hai na.''

"Geet aaj main chahti hoon ki tu waise ready ho jaise main bol rahi hoon''

"par Auntie..''

"Geet.. apni Auntie ki ye wish puri nahin karegi? Maine kaha na tujhse ki aaj ke din mujhe tera yahi gift chhaiye..jaise main kahun to wo maan le bas aur kuchh nahin..apni Auntie ke liye itna nahin kar sakti hai kya..'' Rima blackmailed her emotionally again

And listening to her Geet wanted to cry but could not deny her..  She sat there quietly and let the parlour girls do on her what they wanted...Rima smiled

"Good girl..ab jaisa ye bole waisa karti jana.. agar na bola tune to mujhe bura lagega.''.

And Geet accepted...

Maan and Dev were checking the last minute preparations in the venue..

Maan called a boy and asked him to sit there with remote..

"Dekho jaisa maine bola bikul waisa hi karna.. koi galati nahin honi chhaiye.. Mom dad ka welcome ekdum grand hona chahiye.. Unko lagna chhaiye ki unke bte kitni achhi tarah se unki special party arrange kar sakte hain''

and the boy said

"chinta mat kijiye sir..hamara roz ka kaam hai ye..''

"Hmmm.'' Maan looked around and was satisfied with the arrangements

Dev appraocged him..

" Maan I think everything is perfect now..Mom dad khush ho jaayenge hamaari mehnat dekh ke

Maan with a contended smile

"Haan.. mujhe bhi yahi lagta hai ki sab ache se ho gaya..ab bas thodi der me guests aate hi honge..chal ab hum dono bhi ready ho jaate hain.''

"OK'' Dev agreed

"Dad ko location bhej di na venue ki?'' Maan asked and Dev nodded

"Haan bhej di hai..ab chal.'' and they saw Rano and Mahi coming in.. Dev and Maan handed them the responsibility of everything as they had to go to get ready. They had booked a room for themselves at the venue itself
