As by definition,Consolation prizes will be given to those who do not win TOP 3 positions.

If the winning OS happens to win any of the consolation prizes too, then next one will be chosen.

If you feel your TOP 3 will be a sure shot winner then vote for other stories in consolation prizes category otherwise your vote for consolation prize will be a waste.

Clearing it out now so that readers should not feel cheated later.

A deserving writer should get his/her due

If a story is good...and has ticked most boxes of the consolation categories too...then it deserves to be appreciated again and again... Just like we have in our awards...if a movie is good it wins all the awards hands down...and not just the best movie award...

I feel it will be unfair to change the awarding process after the voting has begun...

I don't want to offend any writers who have participated... But if a good story wins many categories it will act as an inspiration for people to think out of the box and write better.
