"Hello, ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte speaking."

"We have a case, Rawte. Jitna jaldi ho sake office pahuncho.", came the reply from the other end.

"Case aur wo bhi iss waqt Rathod? Kya hua hai?"

"Abhi kuch nahi bata sakta. Come fast.", followed by the busy tone indicating that Rathod hung up.

Arjun shook his head and gave one last look at the portrait before heading out of the house. He got in his SUV and drove towards the office. He was still a little shaken up because of the nightmare. As soon as he reached the office, he pulled himself together and walked into the building. Everyone was already present. The moment he stepped in, the atmosphere completely changed. Everyone turned silent and serious. Rathod seemed worried about something.

"Aa gaye tum Rawte? Chalo ab thoda case discuss kar lein.", Rathod taunted. "Team, ek naya case aaya hai. Ek bahut bade minister ki beti, Amrita, kidnap ho gayi hai aur kidnappers ne koi suraag nahi choda. Nobody knows ke yeh kaam kab, kaise aur kisne kiya. Kamaal ki baat yeh hai ki aakhri baar Amrita ko uske kamre mein dekha gaya tha. Watchman aur ghar ke naukhron ne na kisi ko andar aate dekha aur na hi bahar jaate hue. Even security cameras showed nothing out of ordinary."

Everyone turned to Arjun and waited with bated breath to see his reaction. They all knew that girls kidnapping case was a sensitive topic for him, one in which he acted completely on impulse. But only Rathod knew why. However, Arjun's face remained emotionless and his mind was far away from the meeting.

"Ek minute. Yeh Kirti kahan hai?", ETF chief voiced the question.

"Sir, wo shayad so rahi hai. Usne humara phone bhi nahi uthaya tha.", a girl with a sweet voice replied. Rathore just looked at her with a disapproving look.

"Okay team let's move out to the crime scene.", saying this Arjun walked out. Rathod fumed in anger but said nothing and everyone filed out of the office.

At minister's house, they saw the minister's wife crying loudly. A girl went to console her while the minister turned to the team. "Please meri beti ko bacha lijiye. Main nahi jaanta wo kahan hai aur kis halat mein hai.", minister pleaded and started crying.

"Shree, CCTV footage check karo. Kahin uske saath kuch tampering na hui ho. Aur Amrita ke call records bhi check kar lena.", Rathod commanded. "Team check the entire house for any evidences." Arjun stood silently observing the whole place and trying to understand what took place. He moved towards Amrita's room and noticed that everything in the room was untouched. There was no sign of force entrance or even a struggle. After a few minutes, everyone assembled back in the hall.

A man with curly hair and glasses came forward, "Sir, CCTV footage is correct. Uske saath koi ched-chad nahi ki gayi hai. And maine call records check kiye. Amrita ko 10 baje ek call aaya tha aur uske baad uska phone switch off ho gaya tha. Taajub ki baat yeh hai ki use call isi ghar ke landline se aaya tha." Everyone was shocked hearing this.

Arjun came forward and asked to talk to everyone in the house separately. He interrogated even the security guards. He came to his team and called to talk to them in private. "Rathod yeh kidnapping Amrita ke room se nahi hui hai aur kisi aise insaan ne kari hai jo iss ghar mein aasani se aa jaa sakta hai. Lekin wo koi ghar waala nahi hai-..." but before he could complete, Rathod interrupted, "Yeh tum kaise keh sakte ho. Ho sakta hai ghar ke kisi aadmi ne hi kidnapping ki ho taaki minister sir se firauti ke taur pe badi rakam le sake."

Arjun clenched his fists but replied in a calm tone, "Agar bolne doge tabhi bataunga, SIR. Amrita ke room mein zabardasti ke koi nishaan nahi hai. Shree ne kaha ki CCTV bhi bilkul sahi hai. Usko last call iss ghar ke landline se aaya tha. Iska matlab yeh hai ki Amrita khud ghar se bahar gayi thi. Aur usse achhi tarah se CCTV ke baare mein kaun jaan sakta tha? Wo ek computer expert thi. Wo easily CCTV aur guards ko avoid karke bahar jaa sakti thi. Aur agar wo ghar pe hoti toh koi use landline se call kyun karta. Aisa tabhi hota hai jab wo ghar ke bahar ho aur koi confirm karna chahe ki wo sahi jagah pahunchi ya nahi. Koi ghar ka vyakti apne hi landline se phone karke apne upar shak kyun lega? Yani call kisi security guard ne kiya tha. Aur uske room se uski dairy mili hai. Last entry mein likha hai I'm tired of living this way. I want to be free and soon I will get my freedom'. Iska matlab samjhe ya samjhaun?"

Everyone was impressed with Arjun's quick thinking and observation skills. Rathod fell in deep thought. He too agreed with Arjun and asked Shree to check the location of every security guard's cell phone after 10pm. They found that a guard named Suresh left the house after that time. Suresh tried to run away but a huge, body-builder man caught him. "Kahan bhag raha hai. Ruk tujhse Chotu ke style mein baat karta hoon.", the man said. Suresh got scared of him and confessed that he was the one who kidnapped Amrita. But he did it for someone else. He worked as a kidnapper for his boss who is a human-trafficker.

ETF caught the boss and rescued all the girls including Amrita. The girls just hugged Arjun and started crying. The minister was extremely grateful and thanked them tremendously. The forensic expert, Liza and the journalist, Sakshi helped the girls and comforted them. Aisha, the encounter specialist and Chotu were recording the statements of the criminals and seizing their weapons. Rathod and Shree were with the minister and commissioner.

Nobody noticed Arjun slipping away from the crowd and wandering off along the path. Aaj agar tum yahan hoti toh bahut roti aur shayad uss gang ke boss ko maar bhi deti...Please come back...ab aur nahi saha jaata. He smiled a teary smile and stared off into the sunrise.
