Padamavati is a big film..There is a lot of revenue loss.The CMs dont care if the film releases or not.They want to be seen supporting a cause-but will be happy if the court orders a release.

The court in Rajasthan is posturing too for the state.They know the law of the land.

It is clear now that BJP has no interest anymore..or else UP would have banned it.

Gujarat and MP CMs look stupid.BJP has 18 states under its rule..why are these states extra "sentimental"🥱

I dont think makers have to approach supreme court..the High courts will order the release.

Padmavati is not a small film..State will have to answer the trade and janta

Adding to You 2 's answer above.

During the Jodha Akbar issue it was the same way. The court lifted ban and the other states complied.

As of now 3 states are adamant

Rajasthan - They have elections coming up and the CM Vasundhara Raje desperately needs votes and she will side with the sena. For some weird reason even the royals are happy with the film being banned there.

Gujarat- Padmavat issue was used by them to win elections and the CM is just showing support, With a court order the ban will be lifted

MP- Also the CM is opposing

Media circulated wrong news that even in UP and Himachal film wont be allowed but the respective CM's have confirmed that they have no issue since the CBFC certificate has been obtained.

Historians have a problem with the way ghoomar song is being picturised

First: asked for the bits with the fire from the song as that is part of another dance form and not Ghoomar. they claim that is a false depiction.

Second : that they do not agree with the dressing and has asked for Deepika's Waist and midriff to be covered! , Such lunatics I tell you. DP danced so beautifully such a well choreographed piece and their eyes went to her midriff. They said the dressing does not align with the character Deepika is portraying.

Third :I heard is that they are not happy about a scene where Padmavati touches Ratan's feet.

As far as general public is considered cries have already started from them asking why are they being kept in the dark .
