Part 1
Sameer is sitting alone and recollecting his conversation with his Mom and that she wanted him to win...his challenge in front of his father and Naina's father's words to him...then his Mom comes and sits close to him. Sameer accepts that he failed and that he isn't good for anything but she gives him a small present and Sameer is surprised to see this. She tells him that she is very happy to see his improvement as he got 50% marks while it was difficult for him to pass earlier with 35% marks. He has worked hard and that's the most important for her.
Sameer keeps the gift on a table and then his friends come there. He tells them that he doesn't want to become the head boy by cheating as he can't let down his Mom and Nanu as he had promised them but his father is the villain in his life and he hates him. He takes out the key from his pocket and they all talk about how he told his friends not to steal the papers from the library. His friends are happy and get emotional to see his determination. He decides to throw the key out of school so that no one sees it. But his stepfather overhears all this and he calls the school Principal from a PCO and informs him that the key to the library was stolen and the papers were leaked and they should search the pockets of the two head boy contenders. Sameer is going with his friends when Naina calls him from behind.
Naina comes running to him and slips in the mudpile...his friends start laughing and Naina is embarrassed to see this...Sameer takes out his handkerchief and lends it to her...song in the background...' Haalat kya hai kaise tujhe bataau main...' she smiles and says thanks to him. He tells her that even if she taught him 2 more chapters, he still wouldn't have become the head boy as Arjun is better and he deserves to become the head boy. He has helped her in return for her help in studying...so its now equal between them and leaves.
Everyone is in the principal's room where the head boy badge is to be given to Arjun. The principal tells them that the results are still not final as the key to the library was stolen and the papers were leaked. Everyone was shocked to know this and one teacher tells that the keys are the responsibility of the head librarian while Rakesh defends himself. Principal thinks that as Arjun is his son, he might have taken the key from him but he defends Arjun over there. He asks Mr Awasthi to search both the students.
Part 2
Awasthi ji search Arjun's pockets first but don't find anything. Rakesh ji arrogantly tell him to search Sameer also as the rules should be the same for everyone...just because he is the grandson of a trustee, he shouldn't be spared. On principal's signal, he starts searching Sameer's pockets also but don't find anything. Naina recollects that while giving her his handkerchief, the key fell down from his pocket which she picked up. She also overheard his friends talking about the way they stole the key and she also remembered them trying to pick up the key from the keystand.
Principal was very upset because of the papers being leaked and decides to order enquiry into this matter. Naina recalls her Chachaji saying that hiding the truth is wrong and she should never hide any truth ever in her life. He gives her the example of Yudhishthira in Mahabharata.
Part 3
Principal tells that Rakesh would be suspended till the enquiry is over...as the keys were his responsibility. She couldn't see her father being insulted for Sameer's fault and she came forward and handed over the keys to the principal. She tells that she saw this key felling down from Sameer's pocket and the she narrated the entire incident. Sameer's stepfather says that they were ashamed of his deeds. Rakesh picks up the key and turns around and slaps Sameer and accused him of cheating to become the headboy. Sameer and his friends try to defend him but Rakesh abuses all of them for alleged stealing of the library keys.
Sameer accuses Naina of not knowing the complete truth and coming up with half truth. Arjun and Rakesh support Naina and that everyone knows about Naina's character and that she never lies. Vishakha supports him as still nothing is proven but his father stops her from doing that. The argument heats up between Sameer and Rakesh and when he again tries to slap him, Sameer holds his hand midway. Rakesh blames Sameer and angrily keeps the key on the principal's table. Vishakha leaves from there saying that she would talk to her father in this matter.
Precap
Its raining and Naina argues with Sameer for calling her a liar in front of everyone. Sameer asks her as to why she didn't come and ask him the truth before revealing everything in front of the principal and that her half-truth has spoiled his life forever.
