25-75 with Ms. Mental (A PreeRan OS)

PART ONE

Karan Luthra and Preeta Arora, correction, Preeta Luthra are a crazy couple. Or you can say a couple crazily in love. The two started off on a wrong foot and well let's just say that they never got on the right foot. But somehow the two ended up falling for each other. Though it took a lot more for their bruised egos to accept that they had fallen for the person they disliked the most. It took a little bit of planning from both Srishti and Kritika's side to make them realise their true feelings. And once they both were in the same zone, there was no going back. Karan and Preeta are like two pieces  of a jigsaw puzzle who perfectly fitted with each other. No matter how different they are, they always end up bringing a new side in each other. Of course they can't live without their playful banter but they never took them to the bed. Surprisingly, it is mostly Karan who apologises first. He always follows this mantra to keep his lady love happy but sometimes he also has fun watching her chase after him.

He still calls Preeta as mental' but now she is his Mrs. Mental Luthra'. Preeta often mocks him for taking up a psycho as his wife. But both of them are ugly green eyed monsters when it comes to their other better halves. And such is the case today. Karan and Preeta went to attend the wedding of one their business partner's son. The highlight of wedding turned out to be Sofia'. A certain someone who drives Preeta mad with jealousy. It is funny to think that she was once very much okay with Karan and Sofia being together. But now she is a very territorial woman whose husband is a very charming cricketer. Being a famous personality it is natural for him to have female following and she is never insecure of that. She knows that he has his eyes only for her and he has proved that at various instances. He never looks at other women and she trusts other women to understand her stay away' glare. But Sofia is a different case. She has a problem with the concept of one's personal space, which in turn is an issue with Preeta.

To the outer world Karan Luthra is a spoilt brat and a famous cricketer. But to his family he is an amazing son, an amazing brother and even more amazing husband. There was a day when both of them had vehemently denied Srishti that they fought like an old married couple. But any sane person could recognise the sparks flying between them. Preeta started to realise that there was more to him than his outer shiny image. Maybe it was the day when he saved her from goons or maybe it was the day when they both together saved Kritika from Akshay. But nonetheless she couldn't have found a better partner.

Whatever Karan Luthra did, he did it passionately. His love was pure and selfless. Yes, it took him quite sometime coming to terms with it. He never realised that one day a girl would come in his life and later on become his whole life. Well as someone said Ishq pe hoga yakeen, ishq ho jaane ke baad...You'll believe in love after you fall in love. There was a day when he told Sofia that Preeta was his forever one' just to make her go away. But today, he can proudly proclaim that a thousand times. Ms. mental has made him mental and now he grins like a fool whenever he sees her. He started to see Preeta in a different light when she saved his grandmother from slipping down the stairs. He realised how much she cared for everyone else around her, even him, when he was hit on the head by the goons. And then when he saw her pronouncing the cricket rules loudly when they had a match, he was stumped, to say the least. And then he fake proposed her due to a misunderstanding. But what shocked him next was when Preeta fooled him by making him believe that she had invited all his ex girlfriends.

It all started when Preeta noticed the change in Kritika's behavior. She seemed to be tensed around her fiance Akshay. Preeta spied and found out that Akshay dominated Kritika and that she was scared of him. Preeta knew that she couldn't tell everyone about it as she might end up creating a scene. She first thought of informing Rishab about the same but then realised that Kritika was more close to Karan. It took a bit of pleading from her side to get Karan on her side. But Karan immediately got on with her as soon as he heard his sister's name in the conversation. Both of them decided to call a truce and the war ended for time being. They followed Kritika and Akshay around. During one instance they followed Akshay and Kritika pretending to be a couple. It was weird for Karan to see Preeta behaving so differently with him. He instantly realised that he preferred warrior Preeta over this caring Preeta. In hushed voice he asked her to stare at someone else. Amused by this, Preeta continued to stare at him without realising that they were in an eye lock. They broke apart when the waiter coughed not so subtly and for the first time Karan Luthra wanted to keep looking in some girl's eyes.

They later found out about Akshay's aggressive behavior towards Kritika. Karan wanted to bash Akshay's face when he saw him talking rudely to his sister but Preeta stopped him. Later according to their plan Karan threw a party at his home and invited Akshay. They asked Kritika to do what she wanted to and not give in to Akshay's unnecessary demands. And then as suspected Akshay raised his voice at Kritika when they were alone, or at least he thought that they were. The whole family saw the scene and questioned Akshay. All hell broke loose when Akshay raised his hand on Kritika and Karan and Rishab pounced on him. No one touched their baby sister and got away with it. The wedding was cancelled immediately. They sued Akshay when they found out that he was getting married to Kritika only for dowry and status.

Few days later, Karan met Preeta at a cafe and genuinely thanked her. Suddenly he started seeing Preeta in a different light. Same was the case with Preeta. She knew that deep down Karan was a nice guy but after watching him defending his sister she realised that there was more to him than his charming media image. She was a bit surprised when Karan out of the blue asked her to come to his family picnic which was organised to cheer up Kritika. But nonetheless she felt butterflies in her stomach and happily agreed to come along. They played a cricket match and finally there was someone who could challenge Karan in his game. This ruffled Karan on many levels. First he was not able to focus on his game and now he was not able to focus his mind. His thoughts always kept wandering to a certain physiotherapist. Unknown to him, all his earlier words came true. He started to wait for her arrival.

PART TWO

But how could the famous cricketer Karan Luthra accept all this so easily? He decided to ignore Preeta and turned towards Malishka looking for a distraction. To say that Preeta was hurt would be an understatement. She had started looking forward to their banters and silly fights. She never said it out loud but she liked it when he treated her in a way her ex fiance Deepak never did. How he was always there to hold her whenever she fell. She started admiring his straightforwardness and now since a past few days he was purposely avoiding her. Her life seemed so dull suddenly without the presence of a certain cricketer.

Kritika and Srishti who were already fangirling about the said couple, decided to take the matter in their own hands. Kritika already saw Preeta as her sister-in-law and she was not ready to lose her. Srishti decided to bring Deepak back in picture. Karan Luthra never felt this uncontrollable urge to repeatedly punch someone but when he saw a random guy hugging his Preeta, he found it difficult to control. Imagine the shocked look on his face when he found out that Preeta was engaged to this guy. Well Srishti decided to not tell him that Deepak was an ex-fiance. He then confronted Preeta and who in turn blasted at him for ignoring her for past few weeks. Another two days went by of Deepak trying to woo Preeta and of Karan trying to murder him with his glares. Finally he reached his limit and pulled Preeta in to his washroom. Why washroom? Well this insane couple had some undeniable connection with washroom romance. Preeta, who was by now fed up of this tug-of war started shouting at him only to be stopped by Karan's sudden confession of his love. She didn't give him any answer and spent that night wide awake trying to slow her wildly beating heart. Karan found his answer the very next day when Preeta bursted at Malishka for trying to get close to the guy she was in love with. Karan stared mesmerised at Preeta thundered at him for letting any girl other than her come close to him.

Their dating period was a rollercoaster. Both of them discovered so many annoying and wonderful things about each other. For their first valentine Preeta gifted Karan with a pink tie that had cute hippos drawn all over it and Karan gifted her with a cricket bat. Both of them believed that valentine's day was over hyped and thus they wanted to break the stereotypes. For Preeta's birthday Karan climbed through her window wearing a cute happy birthday' cap and a box of cake in one hand. The cake that Happy Birthday Ms. Mental' written on it. But turned out that Karan was allergic to the hazelnut in the cake and his mouth got numb. So that's how Preeta spent her rest of the night, trying to decode his hand gestures and took him to the hospital. That day she realised that cricketer Karan Luthra was afraid of the needle. He clinged to her arm like a Koala bear and made a lot of fuss, well as much as he could with a numb mouth.

After few months of dating they decided to tell their families about their relation but what came as a shock to both of them was Rishab's confession of his feelings for Preeta. Karan decided to sacrifice his happiness for his brother and stepped back. Preeta who was heartbroken decided to tell truth to Rishab when Karan stopped her. He tried to make her realise that his brother would be an ideal husband and told her that they should end everything before she began a new life with Rishab. At the same time Sarla's health deteriorated and Preeta decided to go ahead with the wedding. Srishti tried to step in between but Preeta refused her to. Both Karan and Preeta decided to go along with everything hiding their pain behind fake smiles. By this time, Rishab had realised that something was amiss and he decided to confront Preeta. She told him that everything was perfect but her eyes said a different story. He later on realised the longing look that she and her brother stared. Surprised by all of this he confronted Karan who panicked at first and then assured him that everything was fine. Rishab later contacted Srishti and begged her to tell him the truth. To say he was heartbroken would be an understatement. But he was heartbroken because of the pain he was unknowingly causing to the two people he loved the most.

Later that night, during his engagement ceremony, he backed out and taunted Preeta. Furious by all this Karan stepped forward and questioned his brother. Rishab smiled when he realised that his plan worked and told everyone about the sacrifice that the two were going to make for him. Things didn't miraculously become fine after that. Preeta didn't talk to Karan for a week and he chased her around like a lost Puppy. Kareena bua almost lost her mind when she realised that Srishti's warning came true. A month later Karan proposed Preeta with his 25 to 75 plan and this time she said yes to growing up together'.  

Now coming back to the present, Preeta was miffed by Sofia's moves on her husband. What took her irritation to a next level was that they were invited to another function tomorrow where Sofia would be present. So imagine Preeta's surprise when she finds her husband waiting for her next day wearing a Charcoal dark tux with the pink hippo tie. Watching the bewildered look on her face Karan shrugged. "Atleast now i look stupid and ugly and no girl will make a move on me. That way i won't have to get my wife bailed out of the jail for attacking a girl he murmured. Preeta smiled as he adjusted his tie. She knew that even with the pink hippo tie, he was the most handsome man in the room. But the fact that he went to such a length for her, made her heart swell with love and pride. She laughed and asked him to remove his tie while silently thanking God for waking her up in the backseat of a certain cricketer's car.
