So much suffering of muslim women due to the misuse and torture in the name of triple talaq and dowry. They showed a maulvi taking money from husband+wife in name of Halala - he sleeps with the woman as ONS and divorces next day. Uttarakhand - muslim woman crying bitterly said that rather than suffer so much, its better to become hindu. Only a stone hearted wont melt seeing the plight of lakhs of muslim women.
BUT NO one can become Hindu, its by birth. So dont understand who is spreading all this misinformation. Rather than this its better that there are reforms done for these women.

No red beacons for ministers from May 1

In what could be seen as a major step towards ending the VIP culture prevalent in India, the government on Wednesday banned the use of red beacon on vehicles attached to dignitaries, including the central and state ministers and other VVIPs.

As per sources, the decision taken by the Union Cabinet will be implemented from May 1.

It is reported that five categories would be allowed to use the red beacon --President, Vice President, prime minister, Chief Justice of India and the Lok Sabha speaker.

The ban applies to Union ministers, chief ministers, state cabinet ministers, bureaucrats and judges of the high court and Supreme Court.

It was reported last week that the Prime Minister's Office has called a meeting to discuss whether the red beacon should be discarded or restricted to certain dignitaries.

Captain Amarinder Singh and Yogi Adityanath, the new chief ministers of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, have already taken steps to either end or restrict VIP culture.

In its first cabinet meeting, chaired by Captain Amarinder, the newly formed Punjab government decided to completely shun the VIP culture by removing the red, yellow and blue beacons from their official vehicles.

Rsr truly said. But the worst part is that many muslims are against the banning of such law becoz it hurts their sentiments. I have heard someone say ki just becoz of gew u don't have to ban a full law! Like seriously?,I mean a law like that is bound to be abused by many. And another thing is that rest of the population has to go through a complex and time taking procedure for divorce which ultimately gets settled by money..

Shivani> Lakhs of women signed petition and went to Supreme Court for intervention. Had Personal Law board or their society taken care then such torture and abuse of women would not have happened. I fail to see what is more important the life of woman or the fake pride of maulana or maulvi? BTW triple talaq is not mentioned in their holy book-Quran. Most muslim nations have already banned it then why should muslim women in India suffer? One man kicked the tummy of his pregnant wife and threw her out. Shockingly there are cases of dowry demand which does not exist in their religion. Greed is affecting the men and their family that they abuse the poor woman. Homeless woman with kids where do they go? Many successful muslim women are running NGOs to help such deserted women. But is that a solution?

Focus on quick steps to ensure safety, security of public: Delhi HC

It suggested that police can talk to women and girls about the problems faced by them and improve the response time.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday told the police to focus on urgent steps they can take to address the issue of safety and security of the public, especially of women and children. A bench of Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Yogesh Khanna said that recruiting more personnel into the force and creating more forensic labs would take a lot of time and asked the Centre and Delhi government to take steps which can be implemented quickly.

"Look at what measures can be taken quickly for ensuring better safety and security of the people, especially women and children," the court said.

The bench also said "policing happens at the more affluent areas. So we need to focus on the neglected areas like slums and jhuggi-jhonpri colonies. Identify the vulnerable areas."

It suggested that police can talk to women and girls about the problems faced by them and improve the response time while the Delhi government can take steps to light up the dark places and set up CCTV cameras.

As the lower ranked officers would be interacting with the people at large, the court asked the Delhi Police whether it takes into account the mindset of a person when inducting him or her into the force.

"Do you carry out psychometric tests or is it just the brawn that you consider? Do you ensure that those who are suspects in criminal cases do not enter the force," it asked.

The Delhi Police, in response said, only a medical test is carried out.

The court was hearing a PIL initiated by it after the December 16, 2012 gangrape case in which it has been giving directions from time to time with regard to improving crime investigation and protection of women in Delhi.

The bench listed the matter for hearing on May 4 when the Delhi Police has to tell the court about the number of additional personnel it needs and for what all purposes.

The high court had earlier also stressed upon the need for installing more CCTV cameras in the city and lighting up dark spots expeditiously.

It had also directed the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to expedite approval by the competent authority of the proposal to employ 14,753 more cops in Delhi.
