IKRS Sunday 3rd January 2016 ep 127 My Take... the bell of destiny..
The episode was meant to be a special one off Sunday treat. Which meant that it would have extraordinary features in it, such as the outdoor setting ,a hilltop mandir , capped by a huge bell. Strange unfriendly images that indicate danger ,like the screeching raven, the swaying sheesh nag ,dry crackling leaves, the howling wind.. spoke of the mandir's privay, not much visited secluded mandir.A huge dark statue of kalli maa, with it's red tongue indicated that she rules this place.. The bell plays a key role in today's episode. A bell is symbolic in many ways . For some it indicates independence in nationalistic terms. It also becomes a sound of death in some faiths. While in others, it invokes deities in devotion. Golden bells also symbolize a wedding , in times of emergency a bell raises alarm too. In one faith it's interior symbolises a void that seeks transcendental. In today's episode it hangs high above in the mandir. lastly how can I ignore the mobile bell that keeps dasharant and Kanak posted about each other's evil deeds..
Kanak in dressed a pink sari.. knows that to entrap the young deer that has turned her from the maternal Durga goddess to the furious kalli maa who,when scorned , turns the milk of human kindness into havoc!..kanak thus, assumes the role of an understanding mother in law to be. She finds Dhani offering devotion to her gods.. But the sight of Kanak quite rightly makes her suspicious of what angst may befall her now? Kanak much to Dhani's surprise uses the winning tactics, plays on Dhani's weakest point, saving Viplav's life.. Firstly offers apology, next sympathizes , but soon gives her the glad tidings she has accepted her sons choice .. and finally deceptively , offers Dhani a solution to get rid of her widows yog too.. Kanak then cunningly mentions the route to the ancient hill top kalli maa's mandir outside which is the enormous bell whereby if she sits directly under the bell, prayer with a sincere heart for the widow yog to pass it will and will change her destiny. Only condition would be that Dhani must be dressed in a white sari. Mission accomplished! Dhani fully duped thanks Kanak for her valuable solution!
The young doe is trapped and a figure in white , moves slowly through the jungle to the hilltop mandir.. Dhani fears the strange route ,but for vikal babu's life she carries on intrepidly. She reaches the mandir.. she feels she is being watched.. it's Kanak in a red sari.. she ensures her job is done properly.. Dhani heads to the frame that holds the weighty huge suspended metal bell! A black raven screeches by overhead to prevent her against her action! sits on the wooden arch and eyes her..dhani rests her phone nearby and sorts the puja thalli , prepares for worship! and offers obeisance to kalli maa first and then sits right under the bell!Kanak scales the mandirs stairs brims in fury as she sees a white sari glad figure of Dhani beneath the bell! The wind howls but Dhani prays .. Kanak changes direction
Viplav moans why aren't you picking up the phone Dhani! she must be in some mandir, shalu wants him to come down ,but he tells her he's off to check Dhani out as Inderani told him she's gone to some ancient mandir on a hilltop to pray!
Dhani sits and prays, while Kanak phones dashrant and gives him an eye account of what she sees! only that which she schemed about ,Dhani is here ,and now no one can save the witch from dying! she sits directly under the bell! and she Kanak is ready to sever the rope that holds the bell up. Soon the bell will be down! and Dhani will be up! she cackles liKe a female gangster! Dashrant showers her with praise and she boasts ,that she will only return home with victorious news! later on Dashrant treats her differently.. accordingly by her performance
Hungrily she views the bell pulls out a dagger tucked under her waist .. and looks at it
Dshrant at his end..sings with joy the hateful jinxed widow will soon be out of their lives! he even smiles and compliments his wife who says all is ready she'll get the rings and start as soon as Dhani and her family arrives,..but dashrant hums in glee as he rubs his hands , and muses not much chance of the Dhani coming!
Kanak at her side slashes in deep venom, back and forth the rope with a dagger! that will make all her dreams come true and end all her troubles! Dhani prays under the bell under the angered face of kalli maa! venomously Kanak slashes with vigour today I will sort you out you witch! Kanak shakes with fury and pants with evil pleasure as she cuts through the twisted fibre of the rope!back and forth the blade moves... and also roll the wheels of Viplav's car which he parks near the steps of the mandir..comes out in an emerald festive dress and looks around the mandir with his eyes..
His mother tucked away against the sided wall continues to slash the rope away and picks up a machete and starts to hack the rest of the rope fibres left. As she hacks with frustration , Viplav calmly and virtuously climbs each step while his mother chops the rope murderously! Andhe gets to the top sees her sitting their in a white sari underneath the huge bell and he smiles.. found her at last he muses! few final hacks and the wooden frame cracks and the bell lowers! Viplav runs and leaps to bell gets his body in the hollow, and pushes Dhani side ways and himself collapses under the heavy weight of the bell.. the white sari figure struggles to the side! Kanak gives dashrant the bell of good news on the mobile phone.. congratulations babu ji! it's done ! the job! the witch has gone from this world prepare to celebrate! Ecstatic she dusts her hands and slips out from the side of the mandir and is perplexed to see Viplav's jeep at the temple..??
At home Dashrant gets a shock of his life Dhani enters the house with her mother!highly confused he receives greetings,Dulari apologizes for coming late she felt dizzy.. Kanak is confused too rans to vilpav car is about to open the door... Viplav with a bleeding head lies under the bell... ahhh! Kanak hears a scream from above! A young widow runs to move the bell off this young man who saved her life
Dasharant wears a scowl on his face. highly confused..dadi wants the ceremony started and he says in a daze yes go ahead.. shalu says viplav has gone to the ancient hilltop temple..dhani is confused.. but dashrant realizes in great shock! where he had gone and shalu exposes, Dhani is here?then who has Viplav gone to get? Dashrant , forever spins webs around innocent people digging pits for them to gain from their down fall.Here he finds that,destiny now confuses his intelligence as he roughly has an idea that all his plans against Dhani seem foiled, he has a nasty feeling that all is not well.. but it's his lack of knowledge that is killing him now.. his guilt now makes him lose it slightly! orders shalu to phone him.. she replies she can't get through , he'll have to go himself immediately for Viplav the place he's gone is ill-fated! Dhani too looks panic ridden.. thinks of her widow yog!..hopes he returns soon.. begs dashrant to take her with him.. he has too .to save his face..
Kanak follows the scream and finds out the horrendous consequences ..digging a pit for that Dhani may have killed her son! she will invariably blame the stars of that witch widow Dhani.. Kanak screams and shouts for her son to be saved..people come to save him the bell is moved.. off him.. Dashrant and Dhani arrive and run up the stairs , hear Kanak's hysterical shouts! Dhani yells vikal babu! they all give and hand to move the bell .. a bleeding passed out Viplav is carried away.. Dhani moves forward to follow the crowd too.. Kanak pushes her back and gives her a volley of abuse, it's because of her widow yog! this happened to her son! it's her fault! she's jinxed! due to her viplav her son is fighting between life and death! she snarls at Dhani she'll burn her if she finds her anywhere near Viplav! Dhani weeps uncontrollably as Kanak asks her , did she come to worship here? Dhani says she didn't as inderani told her mai had fallen and she had to leave.. on her way she bumped into another widow .. Kanak beats her and threatens her don't come near her son and she has seen today how unlucky she is for her son!...and Dhani cries..no one sees my tears I hide and cry , all colours have turned away from my life.. she cries on the ground, the colour of my love is white my beloved, it's white my beloved.. Dhani stands in the Ashram and muses.. on the words of the pandit.. she has widow yog in her horoscope..viplav if he marries her won't live... yes Dhani you saw it today with your own eyes how he bleed .. how he hurt ,how he looked dead,.. her mother blamed her ,may be I am at fault.. she cries.. Inderani knows perhaps what Dhani thinks, and explains no one knows what happens with another, like she decided to go to the temple,Viplav followed her,there.. and this accident happened.. all this was predetermined ..we cannot blame any one it's all beyond our control.. but Dhani disagrees out rightly and says it's all her fault but Inderani checks her , one shouldn't accept defeat! think positive so good things happen..
Kanak explains her side of the story , but Dashrant rejects her pleas and gives her poison to drink..forcibly manhandles her and when interrupted by his son and wife he cleverly shifts all the blame on Kanak for sending Viplav and Dhani to that inauspicious place! because of this sinful woman Viplav nearly died shouts, dashrant and covers his tracks then goes to see Viplav in his den.. Viplav regains consciousness, dashrant tells him it wasn't Dhani whom he saw it was some other woman.. and he is proud of him that he put his ife in danger to save another's life.. but then viplav and creates a fuss where was dhani ?how is she? wasn't she here to see him?... he says she was distressed.. Viplav wants the ring ceremony done.. and Dashrant asks shalu to inform the Ashram that Viplav has recovered and the ring purification will happen tomorrow.. Dashrant weeps and explains to Viplav he cannot see him in pain he can't handle it.. Shambu and dadi tend to Kanak.. but Dashrant arrives.sends them to Viplav's room and squeezes her face maliciously and warns Kanak,he'll burn her alive if one more time she puts Viplav'slife in danger.. yet again he makes it clear it's his grand son that matters not her!
Dhani tells her mother vikal babu is very unlucky to have her in his life.. all the awful things that are happening to him are due to her ,she should perhaps refuse this marriage ,Dhani says , as she seems to suffer ablow to her self esteem and the mishaps of Viplav.. Dulari is gobsmacked and Inderani tells Dhani , she cannot take this matter lightly as marriage is a serious business.. Dhani wishes to be left alone for sometime.. as the women head to Viplav's house for.. Dhani's distrust in going ahead with this wedding prompt them to have a word with Dashrant.. on the other hand Viplav tells his mother not to blame Dhani for his mishap..such irony .because it's Kanak who has put Dhani off! from the wedding..by calling her jinxed and warning her not to come near her son! she feigns, she herself is wondering why she hasn't arrived yet?
Dulari and the rest arrive and Viplav asks with a big smile where her buchiya was? and sh eignores his question and asks how he was? and he says, he 's fine it's her daughter's love that saved him ,till she's with him no harm can come to him..so Viplav declares that Dhani is his shield of protection!..again he asks where Dhani was..? and gets no answer and Viplav furrows his brow
Dhani sits at home in the dark ,dressed in a white sari.. thinking of all the happy memories she had with Viplav..how he showed herthe more and many ways of expressing his love..how she threw colour at his face..a knock at the door she opens it and there he stands before her..his arm in a sling a bandaged around his head..In his hand he held a kalash and waits to be asked in .. she walks past him , goes briskly down the stairs into the courtyard and then stops and wipes her tears he..follows her down and rests the kalsh and a ring box next to it and stands behind her..has my mother saud something,no she lies, and he says what is it then ,were all waiting for her at his house? and why is she wearing a white sari? ok leave it .he says sharply to avoid a confrontation ,takes her by the hand and says ,come here..sit down.. he didn't come for question and answer session, here, take a look what he brought for her.. he knows somethings wrong but then she 's not the type of girl who'd leave any rite incomplete..so hurry up and wash the ring as he won't be able to do that..he waits patiently and sees her stubborn streak and as usual thwarts all traditions when it comes to his love for her.. he holds the ring in his pincer grip ,dips it in water under her shifty watchful eyes,he can see she's in a huff.. see it's easy ..
Kanak creates a rumpus again and complains she doesn't know which spell Dhani's put him under! She didn't come and he's taken ganga gal and the ring over to her! Indrani panics and says they'll have to leave.. they don't want to leave Dhani with him ,she might refuse to marry Viplav continues before Dhani ,he is bored of all these rituals, he doesn't want to but has to ,due to dada ji.. and keeping her busy in his chatter, then he takes her hand and slips on the engagement ring on her finger, she pulls her hand back! and the ring slips off and falls unceremoniously on the Ashram floor.. she walks away from him.. not amused he stands up , walks and picks up the ring as stands to her side and patiently asks her, what is bothering you Dhani? why did she throw the ring? she replies with her back to him ,yes she doesn't want to marry him! not to him! or anyone else! she cries out and he wonders gravely, she continues ,she was meaning to say this to him since along time! couldnt say it before! but she's said it today.. viplav listens to her attentively and studies her weeping face.. and she says , and now he can leave..and he smiles sarcastically, and chuckles and puts his well arm around her shoulders, look is she joking .its a bad joke and she replies,she not joking then he comes around her and faces her, and says ,look he's beginning to worry now,please don't make such a joke Dhani Dhani.. can you stop your silly joke now!he yells and she yells back she is not joking, she is telling the truth! shedoesnt want to marry him! she agreed first, but later on she realized that it's a big mistake she is making! She begs him, please leave! and the penny drops for him and he says so she didn't come deliberately! He spins her around, pierces his eyes into her face and bellows! is she mad? she is making a fool out of him? first she said yes! then she says no! has she lost it? and she cries out , no! she doesn't want to marry him end of!! he simmers down and asks ,if someone has said anything to her then she an tells him.. she says no then he yells why is behaving this way? she replies ,because, she doesn't want to marry , for everything there isn't a reason! she begs him..last time she telling him there's the door just leave. He grabs her joined hands arches his neck forward and spews into his face ,she'd better hear him, no way is he leaving! understand it till she doesn't tell him the reason he is not going to leave her! and she looks into his defiant cold eyes, takes him by his arm leads him to the door, and literally throws him out! shuts the door and presses back against it and cries. Behind her on the on the other side of the door he presses his head and says firmly.. without listening to her reason! he will not leave.. how can she behave so badly with him..she weeps bitterly inside the Ashram..

her..she says she doesn't know. except
that it's to do with destiny.. If they are destined to meet than thy will..he
shouts we both love each other, want to marry each other ,then where the hell
does destiny come into it? He yells open
the door ,she does and comes out and shouts in his face.. She told him once she
has nothing more to say! then why is he beating the door down?not once does she say to viplav.. I don't love you.. for that would be a lie..
A pacey episode.. Dhani 's widow yog is too predictable making their story rigid so this track can be stretched long.. loved the out door shots.. Eisha was great.. Hamlet53 4.1.16
