CHAPTER 5
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Any royal titles, architectural terms,IT terms & programs, office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE. PLEASE DON'T BASH ME !!!!!
What truth was Sameera talking about? Where is Geet's child? How is Maan related to the child? Who is Dhruv? Why didn't Arjun introduce Geet as his sister? How will Maan find these answers?
"Adi, is there any news from PI?"
"Maan, he is still investigating Geet's past!"
"Please tell him to hurry up!"
Maan reached Chopra Construction office and found Geet deeply engrossed in work. Before he could talk to her, Romeo (Romesh Sharma) came. "Geetji, aaj picture dekhne chalen?" (Ms. Geet lets go for a movie!)
"Romeo, aaj mujhe bahut kaam hai. Tum Pandeyji, Manish-a ya Pari ke saath chale jao!" (Romeo, today I'm busy you go with Pandeyji, Manish-a or Pari.)
"Woh sab bhi chal rahe hain. Agar aap..." (They all are going. If you can...)
"Romeo, aaj sach mei main nahi jaa sakti. Aaj mujhe shaam ko pooja karni hai!" (Romeo, I really can't go today as I have prayers in the late afternoon!)
"Arre haan! Aaj toh "KARVA CHAUTH" hai. Aap kiss ke liye vrath rakh rahi hain? Kahin aap kissi se prem toh nahi kar beithi?" (Oh Yes! Today is "KARVA CHAUTH". Who are you fasting for? Have you fallen in love with someone?)
"Romeo, apni haadh mei raho!" (Romeo, don't cross the limit of decency!) Geet said sternly.
"Sorry Ma'am! Mai chalta hoon!" (Sorry Ma'am! I shall leave now!)
Maan was curious to see who is Geet doing "KARVA CHAUTH" fast for? He tried to ask Mr. Chopra casually, "Mr. Chopra aaj toh "KARVA CHAUTH" hai. Yahaan kitni female workers hain? Kyunki woh toh ghar jaldi jaana chahengi?" (Mr. Chopra, today is "KARVA CHAUTH". How many female workers are there as they would like to leave early today?)
"Mr. Khurana, yahaan sirf do female workers hain - Geetika aur Pari. Pari toh modern girl hai aur inn sab baton mei yakeen nahi karti magar Geetika karti." (Mr. Khurana, there are only 2 female workers hain - Geetika and Pari. Pari is modern hence doesn't believe in traditions but Geetika does!)
Dadimaa was again nagging Maan to take her to a temple. Maan didn't trust anyone, hence he took Dadimaa late evening(around 9:30pm) after office, for darshan of "Hidamba Devi's" temple. It is a very old temple with lot of sanctity. Hidamba Devi was wife of Bheem and mother of "Ghatohkach." There was a lot of crowd due to "KARVA CHAUTH", Khuranas were doing darshan when Dadimaa saw Geet dressed as "suhagaan" doing pooja holding a photograph.
She was going to look at the photograph through the sieve but started feeling dizzy, Maan came just in time and held her, hence Geet saw his face after "chaand" (moon) through the "chalni" (sieve)
Geet was feeling again dizzy due to fasting without food and water since morning. Geet would have fallen down if Maan would not have caught her in time. Maan made her drink water and have sweet from pooja thali to reviving her. But unknowingly he broke her fast! Geet now opened her eyes completely and saw Maan in front of her. First she had a beautiful smile like she has got a most precious gift in the world, but then she got scared and quickly got up said "SORRY FOR INCONVENIENCE!" and scurried away. Leaving Maan and Dadimaa confused. Dadimaa said, "Shayad aap se darr gayi Maan!" (Maybe she got scared of you, Maan!) Before leaving, Maan's eyes lay on a piece of paper which fell from Geet's hand, when Geet had fainted. He turned the paper and saw his own photograph looking at him!
Maan was getting highly confused with "Mysteries surrounding Geet!" Next morning, Maan called his Private Investigators again and yelled at them. They were only able to give information which Maan already knew! He decided to have a face to face talk with Geet. He reached Chopra Construction earlier than usual. Maan and Geet entered the lift together. As it was before office hours, only Maan and Geet were occupying the lift. Travelling upwards two floors it jerked and stopped. Geet was getting a little panicky as she was not comfortable in closed spaces! Before she could calm herself the light went off, making Geet hold on to Maan's hand tightly saying, "MUJHE ANDHERE SE BAHUT DARR LAGTA HAI!" (I'm very scared of the dark!) Maan gathered her in his warm embrace saying soothing endearments "Mishty, kyun darr rahi ho? Tumhara Maan hai tumhare saath! Sweetheart just relax!" Then Maan put his lips on hers and started nibbling them softly and tenderly! But the long lost passion rekindled in him, making Maan aggressive lover and Geet clinging weakly to his shirt. Maan removed her pins, letting down her long hair, then he started kissed her ears, temple, eyes, forehead, lips, cheeks and nape. He removed the pin holding her palla so he can have easy access to her soft mounts! But before he could go further down towards her cleavage, there was a jerk and lights came on. Geet quickly pulled herself together. Moved away embarased from Maan tidied her saree & hair. Walked out of the lift as soon as it stopped saying,"Thank you Maan Sir for helping me!"
Geet went to the washroom re-wore her saree, combed her hair and made it into elegant juda. Wiped her smudged lip gloss and applied a natural colour lipstick. Went to her cabin and started working and made a firm decision to leave Chopra Construction as soon as possible. She did not want a repeat performance of what happened in the lift. Geet had paid a high price by succumbing to her physical desires long back! For Geet, her self-respect and her family's respect were most important. She refused to be called a "mistress of a married man"! She is the only one aware of Maan and her relation, which society will not accept. Hence it better "to be out of sight, out of mind!" Sameera was staying with Geet for few days as Arjun had gone out of country for few days! So it would be easy for her mind not to deviate towards path where there was no destination i.e. Maan & her future!
