FORUM RULES REMINDER
Hello everyone,
Recently, members have been breaching forum rules which has lead to a bad atmosphere in the forum. We have always requested members to abide by rules to ensure a peaceful environment wherein healthy and constructive discussions can take place. However, it has come to our attention that despite personal PM warnings and DT NOTES, members have continued to breach forum rules. Therefore, the DT have decided to take some strict action against the offending members and also post a reminder of the forum rules in relation to the recent breaches:
Everyone MUST read the previous forum rules as well as these highlighted issues and abide by all of these rules at ALL times:
DT Moderation
Time and time again we have requested members to discuss any queries/issues regarding any action taken by a DT member via PM. However, members have been openly discussing DT issues on the forum and making false accusations against the DT which under no circumstances will be entertained on the forum. All matters MUST be dealt via PM to maintain confidentiality.
Additionally, when a report is made it is reviewed by the DT and action is taken accordingly. The DT is not allowed to disclose what we are doing with certain threads or what action we are taking so please don't try to make judgments on our decisions because we just don't go through the topics you guys report but through EVERYTHING in that particular thread. Just because we don't highlight step by step as to which action was taken against which member, it doesn't mean action wasn't taken. If you have a problem, PM the Dev. Team members. Also once a DT member has posted a note on a thread regarding rule breaking, please refrain from further dragging the matter in the thread.
Furthermore, an important point to raise here is with regards to the DT NOTES.
Members are requested not to compare situations. For example: 'why is the same warning not being given to X members', 'I saw Y member posting a similar comment against character Z, why did you not warn them', 'why are we getting warnings and another AT is not' etc. Such allegations against the DT are unjust and unfair. The reasons for the DT adopting a different course of action vary. But as an example, if there is only a single comment in a thread breaching forum rules, then the comment is edited with an explanation for this action. However, if an entire thread or numerous comments are found breaching multiple forum rules, then we simply post a general DT NOTE addressing all the issues raised in the thread, before editing the comments and redirecting them to the general DT NOTE. This does NOT mean the DT have taken a biased action - but a general DT NOTE is an effective source of warning to use where multiple rules have been breached.
Reporting issues
Generally, when a report is made we request a minimum of 48 hours for review- HOWEVER, sometimes 48 hours is NOT sufficient as some threads require more time for investigation and consultation with other people. Therefore, please be patient and do NOT jump to conclusions and accuse the DT members of being biased and ignoring your reports. We can assure you every report is reviewed and fair treatment is maintained by the DT at all times.
Also, please do not report the same post more than once. Members reporting the same post multiple times will receive PM warning and if it continues there will be raise in Warning Level too. This rule certainly does not intend to discourage the members from reporting but often same post is reported multiple times from the same member which only delays the process further.
Episode discussion threads
The purpose of such threads as the name suggests is to discuss the episodes, yet members have repeatedly been using these threads to target directly and/or indirectly other members on the forum. This includes mocking other members' viewpoints and/or labelling them as fans of a certain character or haters of a certain character. Such behaviour will NOT be tolerated on the forum and if we continue to see members attacking others, then warnings levels will be raised.
Name calling
While criticizing something, there are times when members tend to go overboard and use certain derogatory and downright offensive words which shouldn't be used for any celebrity/member/DT member. Please remember that any derogatory references, comparing celebrity/member to animal or name calling any person [celebrity/member/DT member] or bashing words on physical appearance is against forum rules, and strict action will be taken against those who indulge in it. No Name calling whether positive or negative will be tolerated anymore. We have tried being lenient in the past, but members of this forum have been taking this too far. Therefore, we are now requesting all members to refer to a character by their name ONLY, otherwise don't talk about them.
Character bashing
Everyone has their own favourite characters and just like you would not appreciate another member bashing your favourite, similarly other members do not appreciate their favourites being bashed left, right and centre in all most every thread. Such behaviour creates a negative vibe across the forum.
There is a fine line between bashing and criticising. It's one thing to be an analyst but another to instigate and mock. Things can be said in a more civilized manner rather than being brutal. Character bashing includes name calling, derogatory comments used to describe the character and/or discussions on their physical appearance among others.
Moral policing
Everyone is welcome to express their opinions provided it is in accordance with BV forum rules and IF COC. We would prefer members to stop preaching on the forum, telling members what to do and what not to do. Let the moderators decide what is needed on this forum and what is not or what one member is allowed to do or not. You cannot stop someone from posting in any topic or making new topics. Do not become a moral police on the forum.
Indirectly Mocking Opinions and Pinpointing
This has been happening way to frequently here and will not be entertained. You are free to express your opinion and have a healthy debate with one another. However, mocking and posting instigating remarks on one's opinion will not be tolerated. If you are going to make a topic and mention "Oh, I don't get how many people think XYZ/ABC are ___" or "I have been seeing that many people are opening topics based on _____" or "WTH? How can people not understand that ___ isn't ____ and like do they not understand the show?" That means that you cannot mock/mention other member's opinions in your topics. If members want to speak they can do it themselves. You cannot be like - How mature or immature fans thinks, or how their opinion says a lot about them, how stupid and what not. All these shall not be entertained any more. You want to express your opinion, please do so in a civil way and do not bring in Freedom of Speech as Human Rights when the whole meaning are simply misinterpreted according to one's benefit. We , the DT respect Freedom of Speech but one should also be well enough to judge on if they have used their Rights of Freedom of Speech responsibly. Any individual and topic seen mocking opinions and pinpointing will see a direct warning level increase of 20% and the topic shall be closed.
Personal attack
Each and every one are entitled to having their own point of view, likes and dislikes. Differences in opinions are bound to exist in a forum like India-forums.com. However, this does not permit one to attack their fellow members for not sharing the same point of view. Let us respect our fellow members and refrain from making any provocative statements, which may only lead to unnecessary quarrels.
Members come here to relax and unwind. Quoting some one's post and making a harsh comment begets displeasure. You have no right to post any abusive, derogatory, insulting or sarcastic comments which is enough to hurt the sentiments of your fellow member. All these fictions are not worth hurting a fellow IF-ian. Please do remember that!
MID IssuesIndia-forums.com Code of Conduct strictly prohibits members from having multiple IDs. Please refrain from making MIDs, especially to bash celebrities, characters and/ or member. If ever convicted with having MIDs, all except the most active ID will be inactivated, followed by a raise in W/L to the active ID. And not every newbie is an MID - some are genuine members so do NOT attack members who belongs to newbie ladder by generalize them as MIDs. If Members suspect MID they are requested to contact DT. We DT will look into the matter but under no circumstances are members allowed to bully newbies or groupie claiming then as MIDs in the Forum.
In addition, we kindly request members to refrain from creating MIDs purposely to cause chaos and fights between the members. If anyone is seen to engage in such activities, the original ID will get a warning level raise and MIDs will be banned, without further question.

Hereon, the DT will assume that ALL members of the forum have read this warning. We are allowing a 48 hours grace period to get familiar with the new rules. Be warned that a breach of ANY of the above and other forum rules can and will be used to give you a warning level raise and/or a possible ban from the forum.
