She shines back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your mirror, your reflection, a witness and your partner in crime.

She is your midnight companion, and knows whenever you smile, even if it's dark.

She is your teacher, your protector, your personal doctor.

Sometimes, she's the reason you would want to wish that you were still a child.

God Bless all Sisters !!!

Kuch Lamha Kuch Khaas Hotay Hain,

Behan Ke Hathon Mein Ho Apne Bhai Ka Haath Hai ,

O Behna Mere Pass Tere Liye Kuch Khas Hai,

Tere Sukoon Ke Liye Meri Pyaari Behna,

Tera Ye Bhai Humesha Tere Saath Hai...

Sister always cares and shares her true feelings.
She hears the words of a brother even if nothing is said.
She understands his invisible pain and is always there for him.
Wish You all a Very Happy Rakhi!!!

There is a myth that Yam and his sister Yamuna, who were siblings, were the epitome of fraternal love. Yamuna had tied rakhi to Yama praying for his immortality. Impressed by his sister, Yama stated that whenever someone's sister ties rakhi on the brother's wrist is praying for protection, the brother will be blessed with longevity and immortality.

One such legendary reference is that of Alexander the Great and King Puru's battle when Roxana (Alexander's wife) had sent a Rakhi to Puru asking him not to harm her husband. Puru did respect her request. Similarly the incident of Rani Karnavati of Chittor sending Rakhi to Humayun asking for protection.

The Hindu festival of Narali Purnima or the Coconut festival is celebrated with great fervor and in a jubilant manner by the fishermen and the fishing community in Maharashtra on the full moon day of Shravan. 'Shravan' is one out of the four most auspicious months in the Hindu calendar. Thus, a full moon day or the Purnima in this month is regarded as even more sacred.

The word 'Naral' means coconut and coconut is offered to the sea on the full moon day, hence the name Narali Purnima. Other names for the festival include Shravani Purnima, Raksha Bandhan and Rakhi Purnima.

On the day of the festival, the traditional food which involves coconut is prepared like naraali bhaat or coconut rice, narlachi karanjis which is sweet coconut stuffed bread, etc.
