True. BS is BS. No matter how many excuse you come up with.

As for period movies; Lagaan and Mughal-e-Azam are perfect examples of what you can achieve in period; movie making if you get them right and have a story to tell.

Especially Lagaan;
It had off-beat songs.
A hero in a Dhoti and a dark heroine.
It clashed with Gaddar; one of biggest hits of all time.
It was made on cricket.
Was shot in Bhuj.
And you had the actors speaking a different dialect all-together.

Almost all things that BW industry had in its not to do list. Yet it went on to be a smashing success at the BO.

When you have no story, you cant blame the public for it not working.
