Man that is sad. Spend so much money and not one person watches it at that cinema the tweet mentions...Ranbir hasn't had a good year at all...

Nope. That's not the problem.

See the reviews and BO for his movies such as Ugly, GOW and Udaan( he produced it, directed by Vikram).

All are fabulous and top notch. Ugly was rated as the best of 2014 by most. Its plot was extremely complex(way more than BV from what I have read) and you had to pay attention of the tinniest of detail otherwise you would miss something that was going on. You even had to pay attention to what people were saying as most of the times it was all lies and the words had a double meaning behind them.

Still it got huge critical acclaim and it made over 8 cores at the BO( clash with PK, no marketing at all; years end etc. Was made on a 4 crore budget).

The point is if you make a good happening movie it will succeed most of the time. The audience is dying for such stuff (another reason why HW movies are doing so well). Recent examples are badlapur and NH10. Successes with an A rated certificate.

Anurag has no one but himself to blame. Its not the audiences fault if the movie is bad ( going by the reviews, I haven't seen it yet).

I feel bad for Ranbir. But, I am happy for DeePiku. She proved that she is better than Ranbir. Anyway. Ranbir will bounch back with Tamasha. JJ seems bad movie.

Bombay Velvet has taken a disastrous opening at the box office, which has pretty much sealed its fate on Friday morning itself. At smaller centres there are reports that shows of the film are getting cancelled.

The Anurag Kashyap film has opened lower than Ranbir Kapoor's last release Roy', which had taken a decent opening due to good music and Ranbir's presence. At most centres, the occupancy is even lower than Akshay Kumar's Baby.

With landing costs in excess of Rs 110 crore, Bombay Velvet was one of the costliest films made in Bollywood and by far the most expensive film of 2015. But, with the kind of opening it has taken, even a film made on half the costs would have struggled to recover.

To add to the woes, Bombay Velvet hasn't been received well by the critics either. The reviews are mixed, which wasn't the case with most Anurag Kashyap films.

This is very bad. BW needed it to be a success story.

And now Mad Max will eat up further business esp in multiplexes because it is getting insane reviews and is the perfect summer action release.
