MUMBAI: Once again proving that nothing is permanent in filmdom, Sonu Nigam and T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar have made their peace! Their much-publicized discord, dating back to 2013 with far-reaching consequences like Nigam's tracks being dubbed (including in "Main Tera Hero") by other singers, is now a thing of the past.

T-Series and Nigam have an old association, and they have released all five albums of Nigam's father Agam Kumar. They will now release the sixth as well. Also coming up is a single with Nigam like T-Series' recent trysts with several voices.

Kumar's father, Gulshan Kumar, had been instrumental in giving the singer a break in the early 90s with both film assignments and cover version albums of Mohammed Rafi's songs on T-Series. Nigam even has a framed picture of Kumar in his house as a tribute.

The dispute was over "a miscommunication created by outsiders over the copyright issue," claimed Kumar. "We spoke over the phone and met some time ago, and within two minutes, we had forgotten the past without even bringing it into the present. Sonu is like family; he's my phenomenally talented younger brother!" Kumar told reporters in Mumbai.

But not all's well on the Nigam front. On April 28, Zee Music announced a ban on him, stating that his voice in any of their forthcoming films will be dubbed by someone else! Nigam tweeted about it the next day, "What do I say? God bless everyone." He later told the media, "There is nothing to comment about ... There is a God."

The issue is seemingly ridiculous. Nigam had ardently defended a friend, a poet and AAP leader, who had allegedly made some unfortunate remark over a farmer's recent suicide in public. This was apparently shown in a Zee News clip. Evidence later suggested that Nigam's friend was innocent, and someone else standing close to him had made the callous remark.
