Q. Will Bombay Velvet take the best opening of the year so far?

Ans. It has chances and even if it does not it won't be too far off but there is not much to beat. The highest is 12.50 crore nett apprx and that is not exactly a big target. Basically Bombay Velvet needs an 18 crore nett plus day one and if it does not get it then either Saturday or Sunday has to go to that figure for it to have a chance of recovery.

Q. Bombay Velvet had a lot of negativity in the media around it while it was being made but now media is positive so can t work as Piku also looked bad and has worked pretty well?

Ans. Its not negativity or positivity that works but the content of the film The promos and music is not impressive and that is what matters, what people say or don't say about film does not really matter but what the public sees does matter. Piku is a different story altogether as its strong appreciation from a small segment of the audience is enough for that film but if only that crowd appreciates Bombay Velvet then it is a goner. It is easier to get appreciation from a small segment as similar tastes but much harder to get appreciation all over.

Q. What is the final gross of Margarita With A Straw?

Ans. It will be a little over 5.50 crore nett.

Q. Is the industry out of its lull with Gabbar Is Back and Piku being Hits?

Ans. These films may emerge hits but are not really the grossers the industry needs. Gabbar Is Back may become the biggest grosser of 2015 but it does not look like doing much more than 85 crore nett which is not a lot. A couple of Super Hit or Blockbuster films before Bajrangi Bhaijaan would be good.
