Chapter 12
"What Randhir ki company? ", Dhruv asked to confirm.
Niharika nodded her head and sat on the bed. Vardhan looked at both of them.
"Dekho Dhruv..", Vardhan said but was cut off by Niharika.
"Kya dekhega woh Vardhan? Tum jante ho ki iss sab ka koi fayeda nahi hai phir bhi", Niharika said disappointed.
Vardhan ignored her and looked at Dhruv.
"Dekho Dhruv samjhne ki koshish karo...", Vardhan started but was again interrupted by Dhruv.
"Uncle samjhna aapko chahiye. Iss joint venture se aap kya karna chahte hai main ache se samjh sakta hoon. Lekin aap bhi jante hain isse kitni problems ho sakti hai, phir bhi aap", Dhruv said trying to make Vardhan understand.
"Dhruv main janta hu ki problem ho sakti hai lekin tum bhi jante ho saari problems ko end karne ke liye sirf ek yeh hi option hai. Tum nahi jante ki Sanyukta aur Randhir hamesha se ek dusri ki takat rahe hai. Jab bhi dono mein se koi ek weak padta tha dusra usse ache se handle karta tha. And I have seen this. Maine pure 4 saal inn dono ko ek dusre se fight karte dekha hai lekin pata hai uska result kya hota tha?", Vardhan paused for a moment.
Dhruv gave him a confused look while Niharika frowned.
"Success", Vardhan answered. "Jab bhi yeh ek dusre se ladte teh ya ek dusro ko challenge karte teh, they always shined more. Maine inki weaknesses ko strength bante hue dekha hai. They used to fight, challenge, compete each other but always ended up winning. Abb chahe woh college competitions ho ya life se related koi bhi competition, they always won. Aur isse acha mauka nahi milega hume."
"Shut up Vardhan", Niharika said maddened.
She was tired making Vardhan understand. Vardhan gave her an angry look. Niharika too glared him.
"Tumhe baat samjh nahi aa rahi ya tum samjhna nahi chahte. Tumhe yaad hai na Sanyukta ne kya karni ki koshish ki thi jab usse pata chala tha ki last time tum usse India kis reason se laye teh? Tum uss waqt bhi chahte teh ki Randhir aur Sanyukta ek baar mil le lekin Sanyukta ne saaf mana kardiya tha. Aur jab tumne secretly plan bana un dono ko milane ka tab woh ghar chodkar chali gayi thi. Thank god ki woh Dhruv ke pass chali gyi thi lekin kahi iss baar usne kuch aur karne ki koshish ki...", Niharika trailed off and a tear escaped her eyes.
Dhruv settled beside her and consoled her. Niharika always treated Sanyukta as her own daughter. She never had one, so Sanyukta was very close to her. She was doing all this for her happiness but Vardhan was ready to understand.
"Vardhan main sirf Sanyukta ki khushi chahti hu aur uski khushi issi mein hai ki...",Niharika couldn't complete as someone else completed her sentence.
"Ki woh aur Randhir ek saath ho jaye", Vardhan completed her sentence. He was always a stubborn and some habits die hard.
"Aur iss baar bhi toh woh India aayi hain na?", Vardhan questioned Niharika.
"Sirf iss project ke liye. Jaisi hi yeh project katam ho jayega woh wapas chali jayegi", Niharika told him.
"Dekhiye uncle main nahi janta ki aap jo keh rahe hain woh sochne mein asan hai but agar Sanyukta ko pata chal gya ki...", Dhruv was interrupted by someone.
"Kya pata chal gaya? Kya chupa raho ho aap log mujhse?", Sanyukta asked entering the room.
Everyone was shocked. Shock would be an understatement. They didn't know what to do. If Sanyukta got to know about Vardhan's plan then there was surely a disaster coming.
"Please god isne kuch na suna ho", all the three prayed the same.
"Kya chupa rahe ho mujhse?", Sanyukta again asked them.
"Kuch nhi bass planning kar rahe teh ki tere sath main aur Nona bhi chalenge Friday ko. Wahi batane aaya tha yaha", Dhruv said diverting the topic.
"Oh... main ussi ke baare mein baat karne aayi thi", Sanyukta said looking at Vardhan.
Vardhan looked at her and nodded his head telling her to continue.
"Woh ek important meeting ke liye Mr. Shah aa raha hain Saturday ko. Unke saath meeting finish karke hi main aa paungi. I think Sunday tak hi main waha pahuch pao. Toh I wanted ki agar aap log Saturday ko jakar saari arrangements dekh lete toh...", said Sanyukta.
"Isme bhi koi puchne wali baat hai? Of course hum dekh lenge but tu akele meeting...", Niharika asked.
"Arre uski tension maat lo aayi main dekh lungi aur phir ek hi din ki toh baat hai", Sanyukta said smiling.
"Theekh hai main aur Nona tere sath ruk jayenge. We all will go on Sunday", Dhruv said looking at Sanyukta.
"Arre nahi Dhruv tum aur Nona Saturday ko hi chale jana. Baba aur aayi ki thodi help ho jayegi. Main aa jaongi Sunday ko", said Sanyukta.
"Argue maat kariyo warna haar jayega", Vardhan joked when he saw that Dhruv was about to argue.
"Okay then aab so jao sab kal kaam pe bhi jana hai", Niharika said to everyone.
Everyone nodded their head and went to their room. Vardhan and Niharika were still angry with each other. Dhruv was thinking how Sanyukta will react when she will get to know about all this. Here, Sanyukta was unable to sleep because she was constantly thinking about the place. That place had many memories attached to it especially HIS.
Here mind diverted to the day when she first saw this place.
Flashback
Vardhan's house, Roorkee
"Tumhe pura yaken hain na Randhir ki yahi ghar hai. Kissi aur ka ghar hua toh hum apne ghar jane layak nahi bachenge direct jail", Sanyukta said sarcastically.
Randhir didn't reply and Sanyukta started thinking what happened to him. He was not arguing. Suddenly reality struck her. She talked about his home.
"Stupid", Sanyukta mentally cursed herself.
"I am sorry Randhir woh...", Sanyukta didn't had anything to say.
Randhir ignored her apology and said, " Andar chale."
Sanyukta just nodded her head and both went inside.
"Wow. Kitna bada ghar hai", Sanyukta said looking around.
"Tum yaha House Adventure par nahi aayi ho. Jis kaam ke liye aaye hai woh karo. Tum upar dundo aur main niche dondta hoon", Randhir said looking around at everything.
"Tum mujhe chodkar toh nahi chale jaoge", Sanyukta asked innocently.
"I am not the one who leave people alone. It's always them who leave me", Randhir said hurt.
Sanyukta could sense that he was hurt and she didn't like this Randhir. The broken one.
And so to cheer him up, she asked, "Aab kaam nahi karna?"
Randhir just ignored her and went to the room. Sanyukta smiled that it's so easy to cheer him up. She also started her mission.
Randhir was searching each and every place but couldn't find anything. Suddenly he heard Sanyukta screaming.
"Randhir... Randhir", Sanyukta shouted.
Randhir panicked and ran upstairs. He opened the door and found Sanyukta sitting on floor at the corner. He ran and went to her.
"Kya hua? Tum theekh toh Sanyukta?", Randhir asked concerned.
"Mujhe kuch nahi hua", Sanyukta said.
"Toh chilayi kyu?", Randhir asked confused.
"Yeh dekho", Sanyukta showed him a paper.
Randhir frowned and looked at the paper. It had a photo of Vardhan standing with a lady.
"Kahi yeh toh", Randhir asked as he was still not able to believe his eyes.
"Yes duffer. Yehi hain Niharika ma'am", Sanyukta said with a broad smile.
"We did it Sanyukta, we did it", Randhir said and hugged her.
They came to Vardhan's house to collect information about Niharika and they got her photo was more than a success for them.
Both them stayed like that for few seconds. Suddenly they realised their position and both of them left each other at same time.
"Waise tum bhagte huye kyu aaye the? Daar gaye the ki mujhe kuch ho toh nahi gaya?", Sanyukta asked controlling her smile.
Randhir looked at her in shock.
"Essa kuch nahi hain", Randhir said looking away. He didn't want to accept the fact that he literally got scared when he heard Sanyukta screaming.
Sanyukta burst out laughing seeing him all shy and confused.
"He looks so cute when he blushes", Sanyukta thought.
Flashback ends
Sanyukta trance was broken when someone entered her room.
"Arre Sanyukta soyi nahi?", Dhruv asked entering her room.
"Nahi neend nahi aa rahi thi. Tum nahi soye?", she asked sitting on her.
"Nahi bass Nona ko dekhne aaya tha", Dhruv said looking at Nona who was sleeping peacefully behind Sanyukta.
"Bahut lucky hain Nona ki usse tumhare jaisa father mila jo uski itni care karta hai, usse itna pyaar karta hai", Sanyukta said admiring Nona.
Dhruv smiled and kept looking at her.
"Acha toh yeh batao ki tum Friday ko kyu nahi ja rahi?", Dhruv asked out of blue.
"Matlab?", Sanyukta asked frowning.
"Matlab tumne jhoot bola na meeting ke baare mein. Koi meeting nahi fix hui hai Mr. shah ke saath. Tum uss jagah se dur rehne ke liye kar rahi hona yeh sab?", Dhruv asked concernedly.
"Mmm..." Sanyukta didn't know what to say.
"Dekho Sanyukta tum jitna apne past se bhagogi woh utna tumhare pass ayega. Tumhe apna past bhula hoga tabhi toh tum agge baad payogi", Dhruv explained her.
"I want to forget each and every memory related to him. But pata nahi haar baar kuch na kuch usse related mere samne aa jata hai. I feel like...", Sanyukta couldn't complete as she felt a lump in her throat.
Dhruv kept his hand on her giving her assurance that everything will be fine.
"Acha abhi so jao bahut raat ho gayi hai", Dhruv said diverting the topic.
Sanyukta smiled and nodded her head.
"Good night", Dhruv and stood up to leave.
"Good night", Sanyukta smiled and lay on the bed.
Dhruv went back to his room and slept but sleep was far away for two people who were thinking about each other. Randhir and Sanyukta.
