please do not quote the whole drabble as it clutters the page, thank you :)
previously: Rockmish Resists
6-year-old rockmish: *wakes up early*
r: *checks on her baby brother*
r: *sees that baby brother is sleeping quietly, pats his head gently and leaves their room*
r: *quietly enters mumma & papa's room*
r: *climbs on papa, who is sleeping on his stomach*
r: *pulls papa's hair to get his attention*
a: *feels an odd weight on his back and some pain as something's tugging on his hair*
a: *starts to freak out and is about to roll over*
a: *feels soft tiny fingertips ghosting across his cheek and realizes what's going on*
a: *carefully maneuvers so that he can face his daughter without accidentally tossing her across the room*
a: *glaring with one eye open only* aditi, it's too early. go back to bed.
r: *sits on papa's chest and pokes his face*
r: no we have to make pancakes
a: if you want pancakes tell robin bhai, he will -
r: no, WE have to make pancakes
p: *carefully suppresses a laugh so her husband and daughter don't realize she is awake*
a: kya aditi, aise zidd karna bilkul nahin chalega, agar tumhe -
r: not for ME papa. it's mother's day! it's the plan!
a: *rubs his face* what plan?
r: my plan!! first we have to make pancakes, then we will bring them to mumma, then we will sing, then aaru will give her a kiss, then i will give her a kiss, then we will give her my painting -
a: *naughty eyebrow raised* don't i get to give her a kiss?
p: *still trying not to laugh and pretending to sleep*
r: *frowning heavily* she's not
your mother.
a: but -
r: you can give badi daadi a kiss later. you and mumma can do your mother's day with her. you can give naani and badi naani a kiss too.
a: but what if i want to kiss your mumma.
r: then you have to wait til WIFE'S day. honestly papa why don't you know these things.
a: meri ma, if i knew everything what would you have to tell me?
r: ok papa bahut ho gaya. chaliye we have to make breakfast, we're behind schedule.
a: haaaye there's even a schedule?
r: yes, i am in charge of mother's day, because mumma is my mother, so i make the schedule
a: but i make the pancakes?
r: yes.
a: but that's not fair.
r: i can't touch the stove papa, and aaru can't hold a spoon, so of course you have to make the pancakes.
a: but she's not my mother.
r: PAPA.
a: ADITI.
p: *shaking with laughter and knows abhi has realized she's awake but is still pretending for aditi's sake*
r: Papa agar aap meri plan nahin maanenge toh phir -
a: *getting out of bed and swinging aditi in his arms* toh phir kya, maharani? how will you punish your helpless ghulam?
r: i will hide all your dogtags
p: *unable to suppress a snort of laughter, but aditi doesn't notice as she and abhi are half-way out the door*
a: that is not funny aditi, don't even joke about that
r: i'm not joking. by the way do you know how to make smiling pancakes?
a: what on earth is a smiling pancake?
r: it's a -
*the door closes behind them*
*pragya snuggles under her covers and thinks of how blessed she is...and what sweet justice it is that her tiny daughter can control her unruly husband with no trouble at all 😉*
