ow that Khan has been granted bail, it is being said that the actor will leave for Kashmir tonight itself...
Salman Khan, whose five year jail term was squashed earlier in the day by the Bombay High Court, may resume shooting for Kabir Khan's much-awaited directorial venture Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Khan was in the beautiful valley along with his director shooting for BB until he returned to the city on May 5, a day before his 2002 hit-and-run case verdict. The Being Human star had zoomed off to Kashmir on April 19 along with the crew of his film. But the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actor wasn't alone as his sister Aprita Khan Sharma and brother-in-law Aayush Sharma kept him company. After returning from Kashmir on May 5, the superstar was found guilty in the hit and run case on May 6 and was given 5 year imprisonment by the Sessions Court, however, today morning Salman was not only granted bail but his sentence was also squashed by Bombay High Court.

Since the Kick actor won't be going behind the bars at least for now, grapevine suggests that he is planning to fly down to Kashmir and resume shooting for his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan which is slated to release during Eid this year. Now we dunno how true this piece of information is but it won't be surprising if Khan gets back to grind. After all, he needs to finish his work assignment before his next hearing which would take place be in July.

Apart from Salman, Kabir Khan's upcoming venture stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles!Edited by awesomegurti - 8 years ago

Mumbai: A day after the Bombay High Court suspended his five-year prison sentence in a hit-and-run case, actor Salman Khan will resume shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Kashmir today.

The actor was not present in court on Friday when a judge said the 49-year-old can apply for bail with a bond of Rs. 30,000. He has to surrender his passport and can only travel abroad with the court's permission.

He completed bail formalities at the Mumbai sessions court yesterday evening. On his return home, he came out to the balcony of his apartment and greeted fans with a namaste, a wave and a salute.

"All those who prayed for and supported me thank u meherbani shukriya," the actor later tweeted.

Mr Khan was convicted on Wednesday of killing a homeless man with his SUV after a night out drinking 13 years ago. The sessions court had found him guilty of culpable homicide and other charges including driving without a license.

Lawyers for Mr Khan argued in the Bombay High Court that his conviction should be overturned. The next hearing has been set for June.

While declaring Mr Khan guilty, Judge DW Deshpande rejected his claim that his driver was to blame.

The judge said instead of reporting the accident to the police, Mr Khan "hid" at home. "It is pertinent to note that the accused did not take any positive steps by visiting hospital to see the injured and provide medical aid to them," the order said.

During the trial, the actor's lawyers claimed that Mr Khan had been drinking water and had climbed out of the car through the driver's seat after the accident because the passenger side door had been damaged.

But several prosecution witnesses, including survivors of the crash, testified that Mr Khan was driving the vehicle when it ploughed at nearly 55 miles per hour into the men sleeping on the street near a bakery in September 2002.

Since his conviction on Wednesday, Bollywood's top stars visited Mr Khan at his home in a show of support. House calls were made by Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha and Kareena Kapoor.

There you go once again. This criminal walks away free living his merry way.

Once more, his involvement with the law was just a blip in a radar and he's back to his life.
