The judge just 'believed' he was, as he even said in his closing statements. You can't just 'believe' stuff, the prosecution has to prove it.
Secondly, people criticising 'The Indian law system' claiming money can buy freedom in India, should go check out 'OJ' and their own legal systems. All legal systems have loop-holes. A good legal team can buy you freedom in any country.
