Absolutely, fully, totally agree. No ramming of updesh down the viewers throat. Such simple everyday dialogues but highly effective!

I think they are trying to show that age is catching up with Nana. And actually this does happen when they start having niggling ailments. But I agree with you in this case as Nana thanthanit aslya muley (no ailments) it does not look natural.
