Title: The best laid plans
Pairing: Parth/Vidushi Sanyukta/Randhir
(Pre-Anju Brain tumor. Sanyukta gives Vidushi some much needed advice. Unfortunately, it doesn't go as planned. )
Rating: T.
Part one of two
"Baat Karo Parth se!" Sanyukta yelled at her roommate for the uptenth time.
She'd lost count at how many times she'd yelled those words at her moping roommate.
Moping? Yes. The horror.
Of all the possible people, it was her sassy, mouthy roommate who was moping in a corner.
"Baat.." Sanyukta began again.
"Bas Sanyukta!" Vidushi raised a hand, her lips trembling as she said "Parth doesn't even want to look at me let alone talk to me. It's over. And this time it's forever" A tear slid down her cheeks and she wiped it off roughly with the back of her palm.
"It's not over until you let it be." Sanyukta huffed "Come on, you know how boys are. You said it yourself!"
Vidushi pulled her pillow closer to her "Don't you get it? He doesn't want me!"
"So? When has that changed your mind?" Sanyukta pulled the pillow away.
"I don't know. The fact that he keeps pushing me away, feels nothing when I am with another man. He didn't even care when I broke my arm. He even threatened to break my other arm if I didn't leave him alone" another tear rolled down Vidushi's cheek.
"I'm sure he didn't mean it! Randhir and I say such things all the time." Sanyukta awkwardly patted Vidushi's back.
"Yeah Right. Randhir would actually care if you died, got hurt or simply disappeared." Vidushi rolled her eyes "Parth would throw a bloody party with every last ruppee and pop a bottle of champagne." Vidushi bit her lip.
"Disappear then." Sanyukta smirked "You can stay with my mom for a couple of days. Anyways the LITS people don't come till next week. I'll keep you updated about the Dream Team scenario. Hopefully Randhir calms the hell down." Sanyukta shook her head.
"Wait...why are you helping me?" Vidushi raised a brow skeptically
"Just...keep an eye on my mom will you, she's been.." Sanyukta bit her lip "Hiding something. She never takes care of herself."
Vidushi gulped. "Ofcourse, don't worry, I'll make sure she gets some rest. And you can pop the champagne with Parth and celebrate."
"Vidushi come on. Now, you aregoing to do as I say for once! I promise it will be better"
Vidushi allowed herself to nod. It was the last shot she was giving herself and Parth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Great. You finally found time for the dream team meetings. Congrats" Sanyukta smiled at Randhir.
"Whatever. Can we start with the useless strategy planning?" Randhir growled back.
"Wait! Where is Vidushi?" Sahil asked.
"I don't know, must still be in the dorm, she was still there when I left, painting her nails." Sanyukta shrugged.
"Ugh. Go get her!" Parth shook his head "She will never improve."
"I'll go call her!" Sahil picked up his phone.
A minute, two minutes
"It's switched off!" Sahil announced.
"What...irresponsible..." Parth's nostrils flared with anger. "I'm going to drag her by her hair down here if I have to"
Before Sanyukta could say a word Parth had already stomped off.
'Please, please be gone Vidushi, I didn't expect Parth to actually...' Sanyukta frantically shook her head.
'There's no way of warning her either. God I'm stupid, I never thought Parth would...' Sanyukta had almost made it out of the door when a hand caught her shoulder.
"Don't you leave too Sanyukta, as you said, we can't waste anymore time." Randhir's tone was pained.
Something made Sanyukta feel her plan was going very, very wrong.
She'd forgotten the first thing she'd ever learnt from all her years of existence.
If something can go wrong, it will.
