Title: Mind over Matter.
Pairing: Sanyukta/Randhir
Yoyo/Ester
Parth/ Vidushi
Sahil/ OC
Rating: T
He watches them all.
Fight, Kiss, Makeup, Fight, Breakup, Kiss, Makeup, Fight, Breakup.
Over and over again.
And it amuses him as much as it saddens him.
Sahil Kataria thanks whatever is up there for not involving him in a mini matter like the rest of his dream team members.
There's Randhir and Sanyukta ofcourse.
Sahil looks to his right.
They are sleeping on Randhir's cardboard, because Sanyukta's is soaking wet, unfit to sleep upon.
Randhir is kind and caring, underneath all his anger and toughness.
Sanyukta is brave and determined, under her smiles and soft words.
Together, they'd be unstoppable.
The power couple.
Two clever, sensitive and explosive people who are blind to the fact that they are interwined with each other. They are push and pull, sun and moon. Calm and Storm. Night and Day. One can't exist without the other. And yet they try so hard to push each other away.
Fate can't be thrawted.
Rank One and Two should know that.
But they don't.
So what chance do the rest of them have?
Sahil looks up.
Vidushi is sitting, her eyes still open.
Her arm must be hurting her too much to let her sleep, Sahil concludes.
She blinks and lifts her hand to her cheek to discreetly wipe off a tear.
Sahil frowns.
He looks down to see Parth lying down, breathing evenly.
His eyes are as closed as Vidushi's are open.
Vidushi and Parth, doomed from the start?
Sahil shakes his head and lightly scoffs.
He'd never have thought someone like them would be together.
And yet they were.
'Are' he adds, the moment he realises Parth's lips are forming words.
Words that look suspiciously like "Sorry" and "Vidushi"
They are another case of messed up.
Another case of Yin and Yang.
And another set of blind fools.
Ambitious and Bold.
Courteous yet Impatient.
Vidushi and Parth.
Opposites who are, in an odd way, the same.
All they need to do is open their eyes and see.
Speaking of open eyes..
Sahil turns to his left.
Yoyo Sher Singh has his eyes glued to his cell phone.
It's a picture of Ester.
Ester is nice enough, kind, polite and sweet.
Perfect for Yoyo, with his quirks and his jokes.
Yoyo is a happy go lucky person, bubbly and fun.
Ester is sensible. She grounds him.
But the light from Yoyo's cell and the constant ping of his messaging is as annoying as the fighting between Sanyukta and Randhir. As annoying as the cold war between Vidushi and Parth.
Them and all their mini matters.
The next day, a pretty girl whose name he doesn't now is leading him by a collar and a leash.
Both literally and figuratively.
Love. He can't afford that.
He reminds himself.
He can't fall in love.
It may be mind over matter, but it's always heart over brain.
