Salman Khan's coming Eid release Bajrangi Bhaijaan' has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a UA certificate. It's means that people of all ages can watch the movie, but children below 12 will have to be accompanied by adults.

It's a slight setback for the makers of Bajrangi Bhaijaan' as a great chunk of Salman Khan's fanbase constitutes kids who haven't entered their teens yet.

On the bright side, the film by director Kabir Khan has been cleared with minimum cuts.

Since the film deals with the issue that could be touchy for the people of India and Pakistan, it was feared that CBFC might ask for many cuts. But the board found hardly anything objectionable in the film.

In fact, CBFC members are quoted as saying that Bajrangi Bhaijaan' sends out a message of peace for the people of both countries.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan' stars Salman Khan as a Hanuman Bhakt who becomes savior for a lost Pakistani girl in India.

The film will release on 17th July.

It remains to be seen if 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' will indeed release in Pakistan. Kabir Khan and Salman Khan's last film together Ek Tha Tiger' wasn't allowed a release in Pak.

Watch: Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the Eid song Aaj Ki Party Meri Taraf Se'

Watch: Qawwali Bhar Do Jholi Meri' from Bajrangi Bhaijaan' will leave to moist-eyed

Music Review : Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Expectations are humongous from the mega Eid bonanza, BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN's audio album. It marks the comeback of the once numero uno composer of Bollywood, Pritam (after almost over a year) and pressure is on him to deliver the best of the best for Bhaijaan, Salman's home production, SKF Films.

BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN MOVIE WALLPAPERS

The song that has gone viral ever since its release, 'Selfie Le Le Re', sung with zeal and fervour by Vishal Dadlani, Nakash Aziz, Pritam , Aditya Pushkarna and Url, has a nice addictive and cute rhythm. Its more than a just a devotional number which it appears at the start. It's almost a title song. The rap highlights the character of the male lead who is shown to be a Bajrang Bali (Lord Hanuman) bhakt (devotee).

WOW! Just one word to describe this Pritam-Atif reunion romantic number, 'Tu Chahiye'. The two are simply at their best . Lovely free flowing rhythm, Atif's mesmerising vocals, superb background arrangements and Amitabh Bhattcharya's simple lyrics. Chartbuster for sure.

Coming to 'Bhar Do Jholi', the iconic devotional 'qawwali ' by the legendary Sabri brothers (in the 70s with lyrics by Purnam Allahabadi ), sung in praise of the Prophet, and has been rendered by many great 'qawwals'. Pritam takes the safe route and adapts the same famous and popular tune (with a bit tweaked lyrics by Kauser Munir), improvising well, keeping the sanctity of the song intact. Adnan Sami sings with devout fervour.

Fultoo masti and dhamaal aptly describes the desi stylized party celebration number, 'Aaj Ki Party', and Mika is just the right choice. The song may not exactly boast of a new tune, but it certainly comes as a breath of fresh air as party songs nowadays are loaded with senseless Yo Yo type rap and hip hop based mostly on alcohol.

The 'Chicken Song' is a cute 'bachchon wala' track and starts of like Dadamuni's 'Rail gaadi' rap (ASHIRWAD), but later on takes inspiration from Kishore da type of highly popular but nonsensical music.

One must commend the lyricist for a very cute, hilarious number where the protagonist is complaining of hunger pangs. Mohit Chauhan is class apart (with Pritam giving support) and his yodelling simply fantastic.

'Zindagi' is a lovely semi philosophical situational song where the protagonist is questioning the whereabouts of his own being and purpose in life. The chorus and philharmonic orchestra in the background is superb and so are the thought provoking lyrics.

To conclude, the makers have gone in for a relatively short soundtrack (for such a huge star cast and lavishly mounted film), with just about five main songs. All the compositions fit in with the theme and are pleasing to the ears and three songs, 'Selfie Le Le Re', 'Tu Chahiye' and 'Aaj Ki Party', are potential chartbusters. The songs would surely attain more popularity (especially 'Bhar Do Jholi' ) after the release of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN this Eid, a day or so earlier, to be precise.

BajrangiBhaijaan - music review - ***1/2

EXPECTATIONS

There are massive expectations from the music of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. After all, it is a Salman Khan film. Moreover, the music of his last film with director Kabir Khan, Ek Tha Tiger, had boasted of chartbuster music too. Moreover, composer Pritam is returning to the scene after a hiatus and one expects quite a few chartbusters from him. A horde of lyricists is roped in for job, and it has to be seen if Mayur Puri, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Kausar Munir, Shabbir Ahmed and Nilesh Mishra come together to deliver well.

MUSIC

Bajrangi Bhaijaan gets a foot-tapping beginning with 'Selfie Le Le Re' which is a unique mix of a devotional track getting a contemporary touch with a club sound to it that appeals adults as well as kids alike. A fun number that maintains a relentless pace to it right through its five minute duration, 'Selfie Le Le Re' deserves good credit for its quirky lyrics that are put together by Mayur Puri. This is all the more accentuated by the coming together of Vishal Dadlani, Nakash Aziz, Pritam Chakraborty, Url and Aditya Pushkarna behind the mike and it is apparent that the men are clearly having a lot of fun!

It turns out to be a sober outing immediately after with Atif Aslam singing 'Tu Chahiye' which could well have been a song for Ranbir Kapoor or another young actor like a Shahid Kapoor or a Varun Dhawan. In case of this well written Amitabh Bhattacharya song though, the man of the moment is Salman Khan and it is entirely due to his inherent charm that this young melodious number doesn't look odd on him. Meanwhile, Pritam does his job in bringing on the club sound in the middle of this romantic number that can be comfortably given a few repeat hearing.

What follows next is a really lengthy track, 'Bhar Do Jholi Meri (Traditional)', which lasts for over eight minutes. A devotional 'qawalli' put together by Kausar Munir, this one has a traditional sound to it and has Adnan Sami singing in a style different from his usual romantic outings. A strictly situational number which should help accentuate the narrative of the film, 'Bhar Do Jholi Meri' should be picked up by hardcore Salman Khan fans who like to see the emotional side of him.

As for an out and out mass appeal, there is 'Aaj Ki Party' that comes next and one wonders why this wasn't the first to be promoted. An out and out dance number which also gains from the star appeal of Kareena Kapoor Khan shaking a leg with Salman Khan, 'Aaj Ki Party' is put together well by Shabbir Ahmed who keeps the lyrics simple, hence making them catchy enough for youth to pick up. As for Pritam, he clearly lets his hair down for this one and that mood is well picked up by Mika Singh too who gets the rhythm of the song well and goes all out to make this party song make you hit the dance floors.

The song that makes you wonder though if it was really needed in the soundtrack is 'Chicken Song'. Perhaps the idea was to entice the children but really, this Mohit Chauhan number seems a tad odd in the scheme of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Perhaps the song finds a place in here since Salman is not in his usual larger-than-life avtar in the film. However, even as Mohit tries to bring on the fun element with Pritam joining him as well, this Mayur Puri written number restricts itself to being a strictly situational outing.

Last to arrive is 'Zindagi (Reprise)' which has a feel completely different from what one has heard in the album so far, with Zubin Nautiyal bringing on pathos with his singing. Lyricist Nilesh Mishra brings on a tad serious words for this slow moving number with Western arrangements to it, and could well have found an inclusion in an Anurag Basu film. A situational track, one waits to see how it fits itself in the narrative of Bajrangi Bhaijaan

OVERALL

Bajrangi Bhaijaan has a couple of chartbusters ('Selfie Le Le Re', 'Aaj Ki Party') which are there for the taking when it comes to being designed for Salman Khan. Meanwhile for the romantics out there, 'Tu Chahiye' fit the bill. The rest are made to fit into the narrative of the film and one waits to see how the integration takes place.

OUR PICK(S)

'Aaj Ki Party', 'Selfie Le Le Re', 'Tu Chahiye', 'Bhar Do Jholi Meri (Traditional)'

Bin Roye vs Bajrangi Bhaijaan vs Wrong Number Boxoffice Expectations In Pakistan

Bin Roye is all set to hit screens this Eid all over Pakistan by Hum Films.. Film will get mega release as buzz is big and film features mega cast which include big faces like Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed.. Film will clash two more films one is a ARY Films biggie Wrong Number and other is Eveready Pictures Bajrangi Bhaijaan.. Wrong Number doesn't feature any crowd puller but ARY Films is biggest film company in Pakistan and their big promotions will provide decent start.. 3rd release Bajrangi Bhaijaan is clear winner on buzz meter as it features Salman Khan and song Bhar Do Jholi Meri is already super hit in the territory.. This clash might see biggest Weekend of all time in Pakistan at ticket window..

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is still not sure to release as it will be clear with in a Week when censor board sees it.. If Bajrangi Bhaijaan doesn't see release in Pakistan then Bin Roye might emerge winner on Day One due to hit music and big cast but difference won't be big as both Wrong Number and Bin Roye will be head to head.. If Bajrangi Bhaijaan sees release then scenario will be all different as much will depend on concentration of shows, but looking at buzz Lahore will be led well by Bajrangi Bhaijaan whereas Islamabad will see good start for Bin Roye but there also Bajrangi Bhaijaan should lead.. At Karachi it will be close call as all the three will be head to head.. At small centers like Multan, Faislabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat and Sargodha things will be in favor of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Wrong Number as Bin Roye might find it tough to get footfalls in these areas..

Overall it will be Bajrangi Bhaijaan taking lead leaving both Bin Roye and Wrong Number head to head over the Weekend but most things will depend on number of shows for each film..
