Chapter 52
Pratap sat in his office overlooking some paperwork but his mind was still roaming around his wife's last conversation
"Ajabde: Let's adopt Sagar" He would have blamed the hormones for it except that even Bade Daata wanted the little boy to be part of the family. He was shocked when Ajabde broached the subject but he was in for a ride when she ended her plea
Ajabde: Pratap we all have someone to rely upon and Sagar clearly loves her more than anyone in the family. She adores him as well and both of them are healing each other and maybe just maybe it will give you a chance to heal as well. Please think about it - Sagar will be a cherished part of the family and I will get an adorable brother-in-law. Maa will have someone to devote her free time to
Pratap: She can devote her time
Ajabde: Do not say those words Pratap Singh Songara. Just think about it please
He kept the pen back on the table thinking of the consequences about adopting the little fellow- making him his younger brother but could not find a single reason not to and maybe his wife was right Sagar might give them a chance to heal. As he sat pondering about the matter Maan rushed in his office his face clearly showing his worry. He stood up and joined his friends as they all found out about the incident and proceeded to escort Chakrapani to the hospital.
HOSPITAL
Chakrapani couldn't believe his luck after all he had been through to put him under such a difficult situation was some kind of joke. He rushed in like a mad man only to see all of them seated there - JB was holding a young Sagar in her arms while BD was on the lookout for some sort of update whereas Ajabde was trying to calm a very distraught Subho- who saw her husband and called out to him: Chakrapani... but he didn't respond instead he turned towards the doctor that just came out
Doctor: She has received several stab wounds in the abdomen area which led to massive internal injuries and loss of blood. At the moment we have repaired as much damage as we could but we are not sure if she would survive this surgery.
BD: There has to be a way to save her
Doctor: We have induced a medical coma to allow her to recover and heal herself but her age and her substance abuse has decreased her chances considerably. I really wish I could give you some hope but there is none in this case. Please excuse me
Chakrapani stood still like a statue when Subho placed her hand on his shoulder
Chakri: Looks like she is leaving our house for good. You got your wish like you always do and left a shocked Subho standing with tears streaming down her face.
Chapter 53
Subho was lost she had no idea what was happening around her or what time it was to be honest the only thing she knew was that her husband blamed her for his mother's demise. He refused to hear her out at all even at the funeral he ignored her presence like she was the plague and even stopped coming home - office was his new residence for all purposes. So she slowly packed her stuff taking in all the cherished memories she shared with her love and then with one last look closed the doors to the one place she called home
Pratap found his wife seated on the couch looking all lost so he sat down beside her and slowly caressed her face. She turned to look at him and uttered
You are not allowed to give me the silent treatment. Ever
Pratap: Okay
Ajabde: I'm serious. I don't care if we had the biggest fight over your OCD tendencies or we are getting a divorce but you are not allowed to give me the silent treatment
Pratap: Ajabde I
Ajabde: Promise me
Pratap: I promise you that I will never give you the silent treatment and also we are never ever getting a divorce besides you love me with my OCD tendency
Ajabde just placed her head on his shoulder trying to get as close as she could with her growing belly when he asked her the reason for it
Ajabde: Subho is so distraught I mean she was the last person to see he mother-in-law and then that vapid woman died and Chakrapani clearly refuses to hear her out
Pratap: you do realise you called a dead person vapid
Ajabde: What? She was a bad woman I mean she wanted Subho to lose her child so that she could get her son married to someone else what sort of mother does that?
Pratap: Yeah but she was his mother
Ajabde: Why are you siding with him? [Her hormones taking the best of her] I mean didn't you see how distraught Subho was and still is - she's pregnant and doing everything all on her own- from doctor's appointments to shopping for the baby and from the looks of it even I'll be doing those things alone
Pratap understood his wife was having one of her mood swing: Why would you do the shopping alone baba? We'll go shopping tomorrow okay
Ajabde sniffled: Tomorrow? Pakka
Pratap nodded his head like a good boy and just then the doorbell rang
Pratap opened the door to a worried Chakri: She's gone...I'm a fool and Subho's gone
