Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is a love story set in the Royal family of Ameerkot headed by Rajmata. The love story revolves around Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (Siddhant Karnick) and Gayatri (Drashti Dhami), who is a Manglik.
Everyone has written off her future as she was born at the wrong time. In spite of being from a well to do family, no one gives her any importance coz her birth time is unlucky. However, Rana Indravadhan marries Gayatri coz she is the daughter of the state's biggest money lender - Gopal Seth.
However, there is one more twist in the tale. It seems Rana Indravadhan is still in love with his dead wife. He is so absorbed in his first wife that he is unable to give Gayatri her due importance. The rest of the story revolves around how Gayatri steals Rana's love and becomes the states' most loved queen.
