1. A remake of one of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's personal favorites, Khoobsurat also marks Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan's debut venture in Bollywood.
2. Fawad Afzal Khan is one of the most known faces of Pakistan and ranks among the highest paid actors of the country.
3. The new Khoobsurat is named after Jaya Bachchan as Sonam Kapoor plays a variation on Rekha from Hrishida's Khoobsurat but is named Mili Chakravarty after Jaya Bhaduri (Bachchan) in Hrishida's Mili.
4. The movie is India's first official Disney film.
5. The producers felt that the film lacked a soulful love song and hence music composer Amaal Mallik composed Naina, which is sung by his brother Armaan Malik and Sona Mohapatra.
6. Fawad Khan who plays the lead role opposite Sonam Kapoor was a part of a metal rock band in Pakistan earlier and is open to sing for a Bollywood film if there is a Rock singing.
7. The last film that Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed, Jhooth Bole Kauva Kaate starred Anil Kapoor in the lead role. Now Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam has worked in the second official remake of a Hrishikesh Mukherjee film after his death. Remake rights of many Hrishikesh Mukherjee films including Satyakam, Chupke Chupke and Naram Garam have been bought. So far only Rohit Shetty has made a film based on Golmaal in Bol Bachchan and then came Khoobsurat.
8. Ratna Pathak plays her mom Dina Pathak's role in the new film. The mother-daughter duo have played the role of the stern matriarch who cannot bear to see her house rules broken by a girl who storms into her family and brings about changes.
9. The Khoobsurat remake marks the Bollywood debut of theatre actor and acting guru Aamir Raza Husain. He plays the role of the docile Maharaja in the matriarchal family originally played by Ashok Kumar.
10. Sonam Kapoor's role was not influenced by Rekha's role from the original except for a few elements. Sonam plays a physiotherapist, a form of medical treatment that didn't exist when the original Khoobsurat released in 1980. Also, Sonam desisted from singing in her own voice as Rekha had done in the original.

Previously titled Mr. Chalu, Priyanka will work with heartthrob Fawad Khan in this one. Zoya Akhtar and Reema, who have written the script of the film, are both fond of Priyanka. Reema was impressed by the rushes of Dil Dhadakne Do' and decided to give a narration of her next to the leading lady. The actress loved the script and instantly agreed to come on board. The movie will be a dark comedy with several female characters. While Chopra will play the lead, reportedly Pooja Bhatt will make a comeback in Bollywood after 13 years with this film.
