Earlier, makers wanted actors. Now, they just want good-looking faces, says Jaipur's Rituraj Singh, who recently joined the show Diya Aur Baati Hum as a kabaddi coach.

Rituraj Singh recently joined the cast of 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' as Coach Mahendra Singh, whose entry has given a major twist to the show. The Jaipur actor has been an avid sportsman throughout his school and college days, and told us, "I love playing tennis and football. So, playing a coach in the show was not difficult. Every game requires some sort of discipline, and my passion for sports helped me a lot in portraying the character."

Criteria for actors has changed
The actor also spent 12 years doing theatre with Barry John in Delhi. Recalling his journey, the he said, "I was only 12 years old when I joined theatre. 'Tol Mol Ke Bol' was my first show. Those were the days when makers wanted actors, whereas now they want good-looking faces and nothing else. Even if you don't know the basics of acting, but have good looks, they can make you an actor. This is weird." Before venturing into television, he also did an English film called Miss Beatty's Children, which won the Best First Film of a Director award at the 40th National Film Awards.

Shahid Kapoor to judge Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this year!

OMG!!!! Is that true? We're sure like us that was your first reaction on reading this headline. So, read on to find out if it is indeed happening...

Shahid Kapoor is ready to debut on small screen. And going by our source his grand first time on television will be a dance reality show. Am I surprised? Not one bit! Shahid will step into the judge's shoes this year on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 8. And from what we hear that Haider actor has been given a promising offer too. A source told BollywoodLife, "Shahid Kapoor will be judging Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this year." We tried to probe further, but it seems like the details are being kept hush-hush for now. The channel, Colors will have a grand announcement to make about their latest Bollywood import.

Considering that Shahid is on an all time career high and has Shaandaar, Udta Punjab and Vishal Bharadwaj's next along with Saif Ali Khan lined up for now. The actor might just manage to find time for his small screen outing.

We spoke to a representative from Colors to get an update on Shahid hosting JDJ 8, who laughed off the news and said, "Really? Nothing has been finalised as yet.

Well, considering that Colors has managed to rope in Salman Khan and have him host their hit reality show Bigg Boss for all these years, we will not be surprised if they have succeeded in wooing Shahid to turn a judge for their starry dance show. With Shahid himself performing at IIFA this year, we couldn't get in touch with him for an update.

With Madhuri Dixit Nene ousted from the show and Karan Johar busy with his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, having Shahid on board would add the much needed starry touch to this show. Ajay Arya roped in for Zee TV's Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani

Actor Ajay Arya, who has done shows like Kasturi, Geet, Navya and Main Lakshmi Tere Angann Ki, is the next to join the cast brigade of Zee TV's upcoming show, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani (Sphere Origins).

Ajay has been roped in to play the good Samaritan', son of the characters played by Akshay Anand and Parull Chaudhry.

As per our source, "While Akshay Anand will play a completely negative character, his son will be a soft-hearted person with a lot of love for nature. Ajay's character named Lakshya Raj, will be fond of poetry, reading books and painting. However, his nature will go through a major transformation with time."

We tried contacting Ajay, but did not get through to him.

For the uninitiated, Ajay was supposed to play a crucial role in Yash Patnaik's show for Disney, Jaa Simran - Jee Le Apni Zindagi. The show did not take off after the pilot was shot.

Shahid Kapoor to judge Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 8?

The channel might have roped in the Haider actor to turn judge for their dance based reality show.

Dance and Shahid Kapoor almost go hand in hand. While the actor is known for his dancing skills, now we hear that the actor has been roped in to play a judge on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa this year. If this turns out to be true, JDJ 8 will also mark Shahid's debut on the small screen.

The dance based reality show always has a trio of judges on the panel. While initially, it was being reported that Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit might opt out of the show, recent reports suggest that the two will still be taking the judges' seat but Remo D'Souza has been shown the door. The choreographer is also judging another dance show and has been ousted from the show. In his place, the makers have decided to add more stardust on the show.

It's Shahid, who the makers have approached to be a judge on JDJ 8. Although nothing is confirmed yet, given Shahid's elaborate schedule- marriage, film commitments (Shaandaar, Rangoon) lined up, we have to wait to see if Sasha actually gives a nod for the show.

I have major doubt that,he will say Yes to this offer. Obviously,his marriage is 1 the big reason. 'Shandaar' shooting already completed, 'Rangoon' has time to start,only 'Udta Punjab' is on floor.

But,if only 35 days is left for JDJ begins then,I think this week Channel will finally rope all associates ( Judges,Contestant n Choreographer).
