Asian Viewers' Television Awards (AVTA)
The innovative UK Asian Viewers' Asian Television Awards (AVTA) are returning for the second year, BizAsia can exclusively reveal.
The nominations for the prestigious event have officially been declared open. The winners will be solely determined by viewers. After the success of the last year the organisers believe this year's event will be bigger and better. The 2015 AVTA's will be taking place on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at a prestigious central London venue.
Playing host to a star studded line up of guests and fabulous entertainment; The 2015 AVTA will consist of 11 award categories nominated completely by the viewers. Once the top three nominations are determined; public voting will take place to determine the winner of each category.
This year's awards see the addition of three new categories.
-Urdu Channel of the Year
-Punjabi Channel of the Year
-Bengali Channel of the Year
The categories open for nominations this year are as follows;
News Channel of the Year, Reality Programme of the Year, Music Channel of The Year, URDU Channel of the Year, Punjabi Channel of the Year, Bengali Channel of the Year, Best of British,
Best Soap of the Year, Best Male Actor of the Year, Best Female Actor of the Year, and General Entertainment Channel of the Year.

Nandish and Rashmi were out for press interactions on their dance reality show yesterday. When the Beintehaa actor was quizzed about the show's judges who are more talked about than its contestants. Here's what Nandish had to say...
"Marzi is full of life! Preity Zinta is gorgeous. As for Chetan Bhagat I still haven't understood him. I still don't know on what parameters is he judging the show?" Nandish said.
Now we like how Nandish had openly expressed his doubts about Chetan's judging. This is a rare case where a contestant who is still a part of the show has taken on the judge. We will not be least surprised if Chetan and Nadish will now get into a heated war of words after this statement of Nandish.

Mere Angne Mein' on Star Plus
Its curtains down for Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon - Ek Baar Phir' after it was confirmed that Mere Angne Mein' will take its slot from later this month.
The popular show, which was moved out of the primetime slot earlier this year was based on the characters of Astha and Shlok played by Shrenu Parikh and Avinash Sachdev respectively.
The new show is based on the clash of ideologies. Set in Allahabad, Mere Angne Mein' will showcase the difference between the authoritative and democratic as well as the generation gap between the head of the family and the youngest members.
Ananya, who plays Sarla Aggarwal, Shanti Devi's daughter, is a bitter-sweet character'. "She is a negative and juicy character and is very much loved by the mother, but sometimes she takes advantage of the love which the mother showers on her," added Ananya.
Mere Angne Mein' launches on Monday 15th June at 17:30.
