Remo D'Souza to judge new reality show 'Dance Plus'

With the success of both Piku' and Tanu Weds Manu Returns' this month, it seems the lead actresses of both films are now in a position to hike their fee. Both Deepika Padukone and Kangna Ranaut are believed to be at that point in their career where they are able to negotiate a higher fee which is closer to their male counterparts.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, a source commented, "Both Piku and TWMR have done fantastic business at the box office without the backing of male lead actors. It shows a changing dynamic of the industry. Kangana and Deepika are the only two actresses today who can quote the sum they want and decide which filmmaker they want to work with."

The source added, " It also goes on to show that you don't necessarily need top banners to back you if you have a strong story and female lead".

Both actresses have enjoyed box office success in their previous films too and it seems this promise of audiences going to the cinema to watch their films seems to be something even the filmmakers would be willing to pay a little more for.
