Salman Khan hit-and-run case: Actor granted a bail of Rs 30000

The Bombay High Court on Friday admitted an appeal and granted bail to actor Salman Khan after his conviction and sentencing of five years rigorous imprisonment in the 2002 hit-and-run case that claimed one life and injured four others. 

Salman was ordered to surrender forthwith. He will now surrender before the sessions court today. The bail granted is of Rs 30,000.


Justice Abhay Thipsay passed the order. The HC accepted his counsel Amit Desai's plea that pending the appeal hearing, bail ought to be continued since Salman has been on bail for the last 13 years and has not misused his liberty. The judge said that this is not a case where once an appeal is admitted, it is not proper to keep him in custody.

A sessions court, on Wednesday, found actor Salman Khan guilty under the stringent charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder after he rammed into a bakery killing one and injuring four while he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Judge DW Deshpande pronounced the conviction as a stoic Khan, dressed in a white shirt and denims, stood in the dock. "You were driving the car, without a licence and you were under the influence of alcohol. All charges have been proved against you," the judge told the actor softly in English as the actor suddenly became pensive. 
When the judge asked the actor if he wanted to say something, he remained silent. At 5 pm, he was still sitting in the dock at the sessions court when the Bombay High Court offered an interim silver lining and staved off his surrender, arrest and custody till Friday.
At 7:05 pm on Wednesday, the actor had finally left court for his Bandra home with his family in tow after his lawyer furnished the order from the HC. The actor was also fined a total of Rs 29,000, but was told not to pay any more compensation.

BizAsia reported a few days ago that popular TV actor and host Rithvik Dhanjani is thought to have been roped in for a Bollywood debut in Ekta Kapoor's erotica XXX'. Now, it is being said that the actor has also signed a nudity clause which has so far been signed by the actresses associated to the film.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Rithvik play a casanova with magical powers that has girls flocking to him".

"You will definitely catch a glimpse of his bare butt in the film. But still, the girls will reveal a lot more than the guys. His character binds the stories together and steams up the screen with not one but multiple actresses," continued the source.

"There will be no depiction of oral sex! Even with clever cinematography, neither Ken nor Bollywood is ready to handle the kind of sex scenes we've seen in Hollywood films like Basic Instinct, Wild Things and Blue Valentine", the insider added.

No doubt many will be awaiting the film which is to be directed by Ken Ghosh.

I really don't know,what is the use of these kind of movies if,Censor Board is not ready to pass such scenes? Recently,they refused to pass "Mastizaade" (Sunny Leone-Tushar Kapoor-Virdas starer) only because of some nudity n 'rough' dialogues then how can they pass XXX type movies??

Did any 1 see the Poster of this movie? Its worst then any B or C grade adults movies poster.

EK should be release this movie in Hollywood.

It feels so good to see some genuine Sanaya fans commenting on Mohit's show article, to see them extend support to Sanaya's soulmate, never mind that they are not his fans, but in Sanaya's happiness lies their happiness. Feeling nice to see this positive response for Mohit and his tentative show.

So true ! I loved this positive atmosphere n a nice support to him frm Sanaya fanz side. They are genuinly wishing good for them warne,they had no reason to comments on his TB article.

They were supporting him frm AVTA days n I am personally really thankful for all of them. 😳

@ red, exactly my point. They are not his fans, but extend their support to him because they love Sanaya a lot and they know what Mohit means to her.


@ bold, pink, yes, we must be thankful to them as we received a lot of support from them for MoNaya. And they don't even take credit for that. 😉 Whatever they did was for their pure & unconditional love for Sanaya.
