Exactly. You kinda spoke my mind there. I'd always suspected that the 'Modi phenomenon' has a lot of air bubbles in it. And what would explain this humongous success in image-projection is the PR firm APCO. Also the fact that employment rate came down from 25% to 24 point something is quite alarming. And the GSDP figures are from the Planning Commission, so reliable according to me. Plus the Lokayukta non-appointment till 2013 and the drama regarding K.A. Mehta highly questions his integrity. Though I'd also say that the article has some loopholes in it, like comparing Gujarat's growth to states like Sikkim with lower denominators. Also, it ignores the fact that Gujarat occupies 6th place in agriculture despite being a largely laterite soil-dominated state. Plus, its GDP is just half of Maharashtra's which has much, much more FDI.

Dunno what to think. :|

emplyoment rate coming down from 25% to 24% in a terrible economy is quite an achievement actually!

many of the facts aren't entire true, because the ground level situation in guj is MUCH better than maharashta.

also the water and electricity situation is much better in Guj.

as far as FDI is concerned, modi has OPENLY REFUTED such claims on India today conclave 😆

if u accuse modi of APCO, you can accuse the congress of getting all these agencies to manipulate figures and take poorly weighted samples. 😊

^^The article states that electricity is extremely costly in Gujarat despite it being a power-surplus state. 😕

You think the Planning Commission is not reliable? Then why the favourable verdict for Chattisgarh a BJP-ruled state? More importantly, who should we then believe?Edited by krystal_watz - 10 years ago

With Namo as a chronic liar as well as a unrepentant mass killer, RG as a clueless leader, Kejriwal as an anarchist who looks quite lost when it comes to governance as against protests, the third front as a  mish-mash of disconnected ideologies ----- what does an average Indian look forward to? 😕
Should the debate be about who among these is the least destructive option?

We need to do a comparative study regarding track record, reliability, economic progress,  equity, governance, justice, country's security, corruption, members with criminal records in each team , long term consequences .

Talking of electricity and its cost Mr Kejriwal could face the people's ire if the discoms carry out their threats of blackouts in the capital allegedly due to inability to pay the NTPC as the present Delhi govt has not not paid the subsidy yet. Remains to see where Kejriwal will come up with the funds for the subsidies promised. The only way the govt can pay is by diverting it from elsewhere. So whatever they promise free is going to be at the expense of something that people have to forego. Mass transfers of officials with no infrastructure or a system in place can only lead to chaos.

@BOLD: Considering there is not even an FIR ever filed against Modi, that does seem an unfair indictment Zorrro Ji.😊

The way media in tandem with Congress have hounded Modi over 2002 riots for 12 years non-stop, it would be logical to deduce he would have been hanged by now if indeed he explicitly ordered those extremely unfortunate pogroms.😆

We should not forget that Modi actually has gone ahead and sat through an almost 10 hour grill of SIT members!

1984 riots, completely orchestrated by Congress, have never been taken seriously, neither by media nor by any investigating agency / committee! 😊
