Chapter 9
Arjun left after a delicious dinner and lots of pampering from masa.Aisha was busy cleaning the table,masa arranging the kitchen and sameer and babasa sat on the sofa talking about business and work.That was when Babasa announced that his work was completed here and they would be going back the next day.The flight was scheduled at night around 9.Though Sameer asked them to stay a few days more but owing to his business need babasa couldnt accept and he didnt want to leave without masa.
Aisha was amused at the concern this man showed his wife,when he had told her that once babasa too didnt wanna marry masa.But now this romantic couple hardly could stay without each other,almost like a regualar habit.
It was late and babasa went to retire for the night.Sameer too was yawning for a long time and got up to sleep but masa called him back from the kitchen.
'beta ruko,hume ap dono se kuch baat karni hai,'masa came out drying her hands in a towel.
Sameer looked at Aisha who was also looking at him with wide eyes.The moment had finally arrived.Both looked at masa and found her looking at them.
'kya hua?aao Aisha baitho,sameer ap bhi baitho,'
All three sat facing each other.Masa took a moment of silence and then started,
'Dekho tum log dono..'
'masa..'
'sameer hume baat karne do,tumlog dono yaha jo bhi kar rahe ho aur chupane ki koshish kar rahe ho,mujhe insab se koi matlab nehi hai.Mein bas tumhe,tum dono ko khush dekhna chahati hu.Tum logo ki shadi ho chuki hai,aur chaho ya nehi,tum log pati patni ho aur rahoge.
Mujhe nehi samaj ata tumlog alag kiyu rehete ho.Lekin mujhe yakeen hai,ki is faisle se humare pariwar ko koi fark nehi parega.Aisha,hum ek sath ek pariwar mein rehete hai,mera bara beta,kam ke silsiley se bahar reheta hai,per wo bhi mere family ka hi hissa hai.Aur waise sameer aur tum bhi.
Mujhe pata hai,mere aur tumlogo ke vichar alag hai,per shadi ke baad bhi alag rehena,isme koi modern ya traditions ki baat nehi hai.Insaan shadi karta hai,taki wo sathe mein rehe sake.Fir tum logo ko takleef kiya hai?Aisha tumhe sameer pasand nehi?'
Aisha looked down embarrased.Sameer looked at her and looked away.He realised he should have spoken to Masa earlier rather than ignoring her completely.He could understand Aisha's hesitance completely and also could imagine the outburst later on but now he had to control the situation.
'Masa,meine khud pehele apse kaha tha ki mein abhi Aisha se shadi nehi karna chahate. Haan apne mujhe samjhaya tha ki apne Aisha ke family se baat karli hai,per kabhi ye nehi pucha ki mein usse shadi kiyu nehi karna chahata tha.Bilkul isi tarah Aisha say bhi kisi ne kabhi nehi pucha usse mujhe shadi karni hai ya nehi.
Hum dono ne apne pariwar ke liye ek dusre ke sath shadi ki,ek dusre ke sath rehe rahe hai,haan alag room mein,per ghar to ek hai na?aur abhi bhi apko problem hai.Pasand ya na pasand tab ata hai masa agar shadi se pehele apne humari decision puchi hoti.Per abhi.
Masa ab hum pati patni hai,hamara apna ek pariwar hai,aur uss pariwar mein decisions hum lenge.Aur un decisions ke liye hum kisi ko koi reasons nehi denge.Hum ek sath rahe ya alag wo humari decision hai,aur mein nehi chahata hi ap usme involve ho.'
'sameer..'Aisha started but was stopped by sameer,
'masa mein ye nehi kehe raha,ki apne ya Aisha ke parents ne hamare sath bura kiya hai,ya galat kiya hai,per jo bhi kiya hai,hume khud samajne dijiye.Ap jab bhi ayenge apko apka room mil jayega,per please,request hai ki ap hamare bare mein itna maat sochiye,'
Sameer finished and waited for a minute for masa to erupt.But she didnt.He expected her to be angry,but she was not.She was blank.Sameer's outburst must be a surprise for her.
Aisha looked frowned and irritated at sameer and then back at masa.She was confused again what to do next.Sameer stood up and walked back to his room.Masa too walked away in another few minutes leaving Aisha all alone.
Aisha was now scared of the cold war.Sameer did save her from the awkward situation but the situation had become worse now.Masa would surely become a boiling volcano and sameer too would erupt any moment on her.
She sat there for a long time before heading back to the room.The lights of the room was on and Sameer was working on the laptop sitting on the bed.His forehead had angry lines and furrows.She didnt disturb him and went to change for the night.
She came out fresh to find sameer still working on his laptop.She sat on the bed and finally voiced out,
'Sameer,sona nehi hai?'
'tum so jao Aisha,mujhe thora kam hai,'came a stern reply,indicating an angry Rathod,
'kuch important hai?kafi raat ho..'she said again,
'haan,tum light off kardo aur so jao,aur please mujhe abhi disturb maat karo,'
Aisha gave up and laid down.She was tired from the day's work and within no time she fell asleep.

Aisha suddenly woke up from her sleep and found the room dark.It took her some time to adjust her eyes to the darkness.She switched the table light.She felt her throat dry and looked at the table for water.She sipped the glass of water and signed.
She looked to her side on the bed and found it empty.It was still dark outside.She checked the time and found it had just strike 3.00.She looked around the room.The laptop was kept neatly on the table and the mobile was kept on charge beside it.But the owner was missing.
The balcony door was closed and the curtains were drawn.She had done none of them before sleeping.She got up from the bed and moved the curtain to look outside and found sameer sitting in the balcony on the floor legs crossed looking straight into the darkness.
She was surprised at the sight.She had never seen this man so much disturbed.She slowly stepped towards the door and turned the knob.The door made a sound and opened.She peeped in but there was no movement from his end.She stepped into the balcony and stood behind him.Sameer still didnt budge.
Finally Aisha sat down beside him.He blinked his eyes but didnt turn to her.He kept looking at the darkness with a blank face.
'tum soye nehi?'she asked him,
Sameer shook his head in a 'no'.
'masa se wo sab nehi kehena tha na,achanak kiyu kaha?'
'kuch galat nehi kaha,'
'per aise,meine aj tak tumhe kabhi itna frustrated nehi dekha,wo to mein hoti thi,per tum,achanak kiya hua?'
'masa kisi aur tarah nehi samajhti,ya fir tumhe galat samjhti,mein ye nehi chahata tha,'
Aisha looked at him intently,sameer looked at her for a brief moment and understood her confusion.He looked back at her,
'ghabrao maat,mein tumse pyar karne nehi laga hu,balki tumhare aur bere beech aisa koi rishta hi nehi hai,guest ho tum yaha aur mein nehi chahata,tum hamesha insab batein yaad kar ke irritate hoti raho,'
'sameer tum aise..'
'yahi sach hai na aisha?'he asked her,looking at her intently,
'I am sorry,meri wajah se..'aisha said ashamed,
'nehi sorry maat kaho,kuch galat to nehi hua,'
'fir tum pareshan kiyu ho?soye kiyu nehi?'
'bas aisehi,sar dard ho raha tha,'
'to kehe sakte the na?'
'keheta to tum typical biwi ki tarah balm laga deti?wo serial wali?'he asked her smiling,
'nehi tumhe ulta latka deti aur aram se so jati,'aisha told him smiling back,
'kaisa churail jaisa dimag hai tumhara aisha,'sameer exclaimed,
'waise hum jitna tough soch rahe the masa ka interogation uthna nehi tha,'aisha said
'haan,waise mujhe laga masa tumhe sham tak interogate kar legi,per aise mere liye wait karegi meine nehi socha tha,'
'nehi karti,sham ko hi baat karti per babasa aa gaye aur bacha liya,waise babasa ne baat ki mujhse wo bohot ache hai,'aisha told him,
'masa bhi achi hai,bas bohot zyada conservative hai,kuch serials ka effect bhi hai,' sameer told her making a face,
Ayesha chuckled at that.Sameer asked her about Arjun and what he told her in the kitchen,
'wo arjun,wo to bas usdin case mein help karne ke liye thanks bolne aya tha,'
'really?wo akdu thanks bola?'
'itna bhi bura nehi hai,haan arrogance thora zyada hai,waise riya nehi ayi?'
'nehi masa riya ko zyada pasand nehi karti,keheti hai arjun ke pass achi nehi lagti,'
'kiyu?'
'ruko masa se puchta hu,'sameer pose to get up but Aisha pulled him down holding his arm and in a jerk he almost fell on her making her slant back.Sameer held her back to support her from falling on the ground.
Their eyes met for a few moments,with the close encounters,both felt strange.Aisha felt her cheeks burning and Sameer felt his heart skipped a few beats.They controlled themselves and looked away,embarrased to look at each other.Finally Sameer started smiling.Aisha saw it and asked him,
'has kiyu rahe ho?'
'tum masa se kitna darti ho aisha?'
'oh hello,darti nehi hu,bas unki izzat karti hu,'
'acha?apna chehera agar dekhti,dekhne layak tha,'sameer started laughing,
'aisa kuch nehi sameer,tum haso maat,warna mein masa ko complain karungi,'
'Aree nehi aisa maat karna,'he said getting suddenly serious,
'kiyu?'
'usdin jack ki halat dekhi thi?meri bhi halat waise ho jayegi,tum dono bhayanak atma o ke chakkar mein,'
'mein atma hu sameer,'she asked him glaring,
Sameer was rolling on the floor laughing and Aisha was hitting him with her angry glares and hands.This continued until the sun rose and the morning started.Sameer didnt sleep all night but the conversation and the special unknown relation they nourished all night had refreshed his mind more than the sleep.Aisha too had a disturbed sleep but the comfort they had started sharing was making her happy.Babasa's words and some close encounters with sameer was making her looking forward to a special bond between them.
